there are many ways to do it. the old school version is a few led's between the projector lens, and the cutoff plate, facing the plate (it illuminates the plate in the color of the leds, making the lens that color).

my way involved 18 leds placed in a circle around, and behind the projector lens, facing the lens. it makes a neat multi point ring. it working int eh DEPOS because the lense has a "lip" that it sits on (made of metal). the leds are behind that lip, and at an angle, so they do not impede the actual bulb's light, but still shine on the lens.

my new set i am making is sonars, so i had to get a little creative (no extra useless space.)

his demon eye is blue (mine is red) (and he is getting a better set of leds... i found a new supplier)
his housings are black (my housings are red)
