New England MTOTD Convoy Thread - Club3G Forum : Mitsubishi Eclipse 3G Forums

With months flying by, MTOTD will be here before ya know it. I'll start planning the Convoy out for the dragon from the New England region. I've already been contacted from a few people in the area. I know Jer/Mackenzie were most likely join Britt and I. There's also a few people for RI and Maine and such.

It's a 16 hour drive from where I'm at (near Boston). With the check-in time for my cabin being 3pm on Wed the 13th of June, that mean I'll be leaving LATE Tuesday night/midnight.

Here's one of the better route in my opinion. Least amount of toll roads, most highway.

Depending on how many times you stop. It took us 17.5 hours down. You hit traffic in 84 a lot, and nj cops are ass holes. 17 hours back

Yea, when details start to get formed I'll add a couple hours into the schedule for restroom/gas stops. Should be 2-3 stops for gas each way at least. (rough 30mpg estimate)

Eh, same time-frame I did the first year in 2010 MT. Drive really isn't too bad. Just make sure your car is running smoothly before you make this trip.

Yup, was going to bring that up later as well. If we have a good amount of people walkie-talkie's will come in use. (No, we are adults, we are not going to be ricer-rificly speeding on public roads with children in cars next to us. If anyone thinks the convoy will be like that, you can go by yourself)

hey i understand what you mean, and the walkie's would be great cause if we have a 5 car convoy calling people on the phone while driving isn't so good. I'm gonna be getting a couple for the trip

It's a little longer than that. I'm taking two days to go down because I make a lot of stops and hikes along the way.

Looking at all the info, that is nice. But it would add mucho time considering the roads are mostly between 30-45mph.

Walkies are a Must for this meet, phones will not work in the mountains. Our group will be taking a few and I know I will be buying a new set for this year to share with 1 of my brothers. Main thing is staying in contact down there because you can get turned around real easy.

Most of your money will be spent on gas and food. I would bring extra just in case something happens like you break down. Both previous times there have been peeps with car trouble.

You'll probably be spending at least $150 on gas each way minus the gas the dragon will guzzle. Add in daily amounts of food cost + lodging (I wasn't sure if you pre-paid for a cabin or not). Add in some more cash for activities in the area. Last but not least, security money in case the car has issues like a blowout or soforth. Just bring a bit in cash, and keep the rest on a debit/credit card.
