Can't find wiper fluid tube??
Alright, so my wiper fluid tube is broken (came with car), and I cannot seem to find a replacement. I haven't been too worried about it and I don't really want to order it online, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong -- why haven't I found them? I've looked at places like Target, Wal-Mart, Autozone in both Gainesville and Jacksonville. I don't know what the tech term would be for the tubes, but it shouldn't be this hard to find. Any suggestions (even just the tech term)?

If you are talking about the "tubes" (hoses) that connect your sprayer nozzles to the wiper fluid pump/resevoir then I would think you could use any old vacuum hose as long as the internal size was the same. I don't see why any old rubber hose wouldn't work. I'm sure the dealer has this stuff on hand. I'd be AMAZED if Autozone or AdvancedAuto didn't have something that would work.

as long as it is the same diameter then it should work. I think the heat will be just fine. I purchased new "T"s from Mentor Mitsu awhile back. They are cheap. The only reson o use those instead of a generic "T" is because they snap into place on the hood and they won't dangle or hang down and touch your manifold. A zip tie would fix that though, assuming you dont care about the looks.

Ah, that works out. Home depot is closest. Thanx a lot everyone. It has been one of those things that is really annoying, but keep putting off/forgetting. Plus, I usually only need to use it at night which is when you can't see what you're doing, so I usually run up to a gas station so I can see (trying not to crash into anything on the way!).

WHOA! It works. I think it's the first time I've ever had wiper fluid that works! With my last Eclipse it just kinda spread on the windshield. I appreciate it so much. No more visits to the gas station to take off pollen or residue. The other T connector was far gone that it crumbled when I tried to grab it with pliers. What was odd though was that NCSpyder said that it would dangle, but for some odd reason it did not. In fact, it appeared to be a little too taut. If you are facing the car from the hood, the right tube required quite a bit of force to connect to the other two tubes -- something that would definitely stress a piece of plastic over time. Any thoughts??

Boy, when I think GT/GTS Performance discussion, in the technical section of the forums, near the performance discussion forum, close to the PROBLEM REPORTS forum and right above the Forced Induction discussion forum--I think my windshield wiper tube is broken, and I need to replace it! It makes perfect sense to be in here.
![]() And all of you wonder why I get annoyed so much, so easily. All the time that is taken to create entire forums, make individual forum announcements, make global forum announcements, and yet it all gets ignored on what seems to be a minute by minute basis. |

Sam, bro, there is nothing more annoying than ignorant or people who do not try to understand. In this case, I would say that you're rather ignorant. Why? Because something on my 3G Eclipse GT was not performing correctly; after all, I read the correctly, right? I believe I did. Even you appear to of had read it correctly. I think your ignorance stems from your opinion that performance could not possibly relate to a broken washer fluid connector. Now, do I think this is the best place for this issue? NO! Do I think it is the WRONG place for this issue? NO! So why did I post it in here? Because my lazy ass would not hit the backspace button and click the Problem Reports button. Had this been the forum titled "Car Audio and Electronics" would I of had taken the extra effort to hit that back button? Hell yes.
There are threads even more misplaced than mine that you could be wasting your time with. Also, if you're so certain that individual forum announcements and global forum announcements are all ignored on a "minute by minute" basis, maybe you should try just not making the announcements and see what happens. If you're right, then at least you wouldn't those who would've created those announcements wouldn't have wasted their time, am I right? I think you've just disrespected a lot of forum members around here by suggesting that no one pays attention to any of the announcements. I may be fairly new around here, but I am not new to people like you. I see you've disabled your rep, and I now see why. Had you been a little more curteous (which it appears you choose not to) I wouldn't feel the need to be so defensive. I have serious respect for whomever created this forum because I've been on this site periodically for several years, and have appreciated every minute! So Sam, CHILL THE F* OUT!

Sand... this thread would be better related to Prob Repots
Simply because the piece/system in question is identical across all models. It is not GT/GTS specific. Sam (note: generally bitter" is helping you become a welcomed long term member and stating what many reading this thread probably think as well ![]() Glad its working for you though! As for the stretching/taught tubing. Simple fix. Get a longer piece of tubing and replace the stretched one OR get a hose/tubing "inline coupler" (a "T" without the leg). Cut the tubing and insert the coupler. If the coupler is 1-2" long then you have just extended your hose approx 1-2"

I'M ANGRY TOOOO!! I've been eating ramen noodles for a week straight, and I'm shitting fucking aliens!! An unrelated, but true story.Anyways, I've got a vacuum fitting on my washer fluid line. It's not a T, both of the outputs are facing in one direction, but the lines reach and it works great. And sandlotje, this is the wrong forum to post this in. Just think of the chaos...a NWS lesbian shit eating thread, followed by a dude asking how to change his windshield wipers, followed by someone needing help with a blown turbo. I wouldn't even come to this site anymore. Last edited by 3Gdefo; 02/29/2008 at 09:36 PM. |

I've tried and done everything you can think of with this forum; and it doesn't work, save one thing, the thing you are going to be a recipient of, banning. Quote:

So I recently ordered the T-connector from Mentor Mitsu
while it was only $1 for the item, the "shipping" was TBD and when the item shipped, they billed me for $12 for shipping ROFLCOPTER |

Holy ancient thread, Batman.
I do give people credit for looking though. Also FYI Home Depot and plenty of similar places sell T's in the plumbing section. They're about $2 but shipping is free. And there's a sense of immediate gratification. |
