timing belt or chain?

I just got a 2000 gt v6 and it has 135,000 on it. The dealer that i bought it from says it doesnt have a timing belt..but it has a chain. I was like wtf? Idk I find it hard to believe that the car wouldnt have a timing belt because i was asking him in reverence to being worried about it snapping and he was like no it won't snap it has a chain...is that bs?

IMO i think its a buch of BS, unless the last owner made mayor mods to the engine, i know mine has a belt, but you should be able to see for your self if you pop the cover off.

the cover is easy to remove. If you have the car, take a look. We don't know whats under there, just what SHOULD be.

haha well I what I did was I managed to get the original owner's phone number and called him up...he said the dealer is a bitch and that he changed the timing belt at 60,000 and 120,000...soo im all set..yeaaaa boi. fucking dealers dude
