mmerlina : who are you?
heater core replacement

Hey guys, my wife has a 2003 2.4L 135k, and from what I've gathered, the heater core is gone. There's a really bad musty/moldy smell coming from the vents, I was told the core is leaking fluid into the box, it's getting stagnant and then stinking the car up. Does this sound plausible? It did to me..

I did a search here and didn't come up with much in terms of any instructions or "whatever you do, don't ..." when doing the job. Is anyone here familiar with where I can find more information on this procedure?

I understand the entire dash needs to come out, I just wouldn't know where to start.. whatever bolts I can see I guess?

Thanks everyone,

Michael

There's a how-to in the garage section on how to pull the dash out. Last time I had to pull one out it only took me about 20 minutes to do it.
