Newbie here... just joined today!

Hello all,

I was so excited when I bought this baby! 2001 eclipse GT V6. Only has 43k original miles... automatic. Everything is pretty much stock. Dont really wanna bling it out too much but I have some plans to make it look a little bit aggressive.

So far the only thing I bought for her are a new pair of shoes... gold ones. Got it off craigslist for $600 with tires and a spare... score!

I want to leave it looking pretty stock but she definitely have to be dropped lol. I am saving up for some parts. Will post when I get them and install them.

I will get some more good pics of it tomorrow when the sun comes out.

Its kinda sitting still right now because the starter went out. Will be replaced really soon. I tried getting it out myself but dont have the proper tools.

It was really inconvenient because I got it out the shop thursday after getting a new transmission and when I tried to drive it around the next day it wouldn't start... lol. Oh well I guess I have to be patient.

more pics...

Here is the back side of it...

pics of the engine bay. Just got new batteries the other day and...I have my eye on some cold air intake to put in her soon.

The inside is still pretty clean, the leather is still pretty crispy. Im thinking about getting some new seats but I dont know yet. You guys like my Hawaiian dream catcher??

Remember how I said she only had 43k original miles... well I lied its actually 42,800... close enough though right? hahaha. I got lucky with this one. I guess the owner was a college student but she lived in a dorm which resulted in no drive time with this beauty lol... lucky for me i guess.

All 4 tires read 245/40z r18...

The guy I got it from had it on his evo and his car was dropped so part of his car was scraping the side of the tires.
I guess a set of new shoes will be going in my shopping list.

Btw... What size wheels/tires are you guys using out there? I wanna drop it but I want the wheels just right, so it doesn't scrape against my fender. I don't wanna roll my fenders too. Me no like that.

That's the tire, we're want to know about the wheel.

As in my Evo 8 Enkie wheels are 17" x 8" +38 offset and my Kuhmo Ecsta ASX's are 235/45 17. So what are your wheel specs?

It says "Raze" 18x9...

From what I'm reading, it sounds like I need to go with something a little skinnier...

What if I got a set of wheels that's 17x8.5 ... Will that still be too wide for my car?

18x9 is fine, what is the offset on the wheels? It should be stamped on the inside of the wheel somewhere. If you lower the car they won't look as wide, then you can camber the wheels in 1.5-2 degrees and should look to be a decent fit. I believe those Raze's are 18x9 +30, so that actually is a very decent setup (spec wise). Just lower it about 2.5" or so with some coilovers and it will look very good. Might even want to run a 225/40 tire on them in the future after you lower it.

Also, welcome fellow washingtonian! What city/town do you live in? I live near Gig Harbor.
