I have a 4cylinder GS Eclipse
I bought car from dealership with i believe 74k? and i am now at 105k so i think its time to do a tune up. Im having a few problems so i think its time to address them and take care of some other stuff. I think i have a vacuum leak, theres bubbles in my coolant ( which i googled and i think it means My Valve cover gasket is going), Steering wheel vibrates at 80mph(I just replace pads and rotors not too long ago, could this be my CV shafts/boots?), I think my EGR is messing up cause a decrease in MPG and hesitation, It overheats sometimes when i have my heat on(only in park, so i searched and this means i could have air in my system), Small Oil Leak around the cap, and im changing my tie rods to help with the vibrating issue. And im also doing my endlinks (which are also called stabilizer bars?) to help with vibrations. I'm going to be doing some diagnosing when i have time to see what i need 100%. but here is the list even though some of it most likely will not be needed. My Tune Up List w/ Prices: PCV Valve............................................. ....... $4.82 Water Pump/Gasket....................................... $27.79 Thermostat/Gasket........................................ $13.93 50/50 Antifreeze-2 Gallons (drain and fill)........... $10.99 Intake Mani Gasket........................................ $5.89 Balance Shaft Belt......................................... $8.18 Timing Belt.............................................. ..... $22.89 Main (Serpentine?) Belt.................................. $10.11 VC Gasket/Spark Plug Seals..............................$8.81 Head Gasket............................................ ......$28.99 Front Bumper (Primed).....................................$35.7 9 Lower Radiator Hose........................................$11.65 Upper Radiator Hose........................................$7.70 Left CV Shaft............................................. ...$43.79 Right CV Shaft............................................. . $43.99 EGR Gasket............................................ ........$0.89 ERG Vacuum Solenoid.......................................$28 .79 EGR Valve............................................. ..........$64.79 Exhaust Mani Gasket.........................................$9. 34 Fuel Injector O-Rings.................................. ......$2.52 Inner Tie Rod............................................... ....$16.90 Outer Tie Rod............................................... ...$23.79 MOOG End link (Stabilizer Bar?) Front Left.............$23.89 MOOG End link (Stabilizer Bar?) Front Right...........$23.89 MOOG End link (Stabilizer Bar?) Rear (2)...............$22.79 I was also thinking about doing a Tranny Drain and Fill Also when i change my oil should i drop my oil pan, clean it out really well and replace the gasket? Oil Drain Plug.............................................. ....$1.33 Oil Pan Gasket............................................ ....$7.26 Feel free to let me know if there is anything else i should change/check Last edited by SunDevil5; 02/19/2013 at 12:49 PM. |

Bubbles in coolant and overheating? Check the headgasket for leaks..
Axles can cause vibrations, but they usually happen under load like going up a hill at high speed, or when you accelerate out of a turn. |

Yeah like IIRC when i took off my Rad cap, there were little white bubbles in it, and it hasnt overheated in a while, It was mainly around christmas when it gets cold (40degrees F) and i was parked at a downward angle it would climb to maybe 3/4. How do i check for leaks in headgasket??

I just get the GM oil that the local Chevrolet dealership put in. Its only $8.88 for an oil change so its cheaper than spending $30 and doing it myself so i let them do it. they also do a 27-point inspection so i can see if they see anything wrong with the car that i didnt check

yeah i know i just heard that some of them actuallly work such as Gumout Fuel Injector cleaner and i dont want to add anything after all fluids are changed. I used a carbon cleaner called searfoam or something.
Also is it necessary to drop the oil pan and clean it out real good and replace the Gasket? |

Explain, I've already had this conversation with you El Guapo, you're well aware you're not allowed two accounts.

No, you're using two accounts again El Guapo. Prove that you're not and I'll have your 'other' one unbanned. Fail to do so, and I'm permabanning this new one...again.

I'm not sure what's not clear about the above. You don't accidentally have the exact same IP address.

It would show that you're not El Guapo. Why should I have to prove anything?

Wow... Ok OP Ill make an attempt here. The bubbles probably are due to the headgasget, PLEASE TEST IT FIRST BEFORE REPLACING.. pull a spark plug in the front bay.. then pull the radiator cap. Then u need a male air fitting t UNhat will screw into the spark plug hole. Put 125- 150psi to it. If u see bubbles.. ur screwed bro. do all 4.
As far as the vibration... alignment, camber,or bad tire/bent wheel. Its not the shafts. Seems like you're going after thecorrect parts. If that's not, id bet a bent wheel. Have a local shop put it on a balancer. Itl tell u.

So, El Guapo, since you stiffed someone on a pricey item you think you can just make multiple accounts and play stupid when called on it? Uh no. You get one account per life time as I've already stated. Now you're going to be indefinably cock-nozzled too.

Well that sucks... who am I to care if this guys got two accounts, couldn't care less really but now I wish I would have known about him being dishonest before I tried to help him.
Yo OP what comes around goes around, you don't get away with ripping people off... in the end you get it. Dishonest people attract dishonesty and then dishonest friends and eventually become the victim of their own way. Seriously man think about it.
