Shut off and idle issues

I will give you a little history on the issue. About a 3 weeks ago I was driving my car and it just shut off when I slowed down at a light. Ended up letting the car sit for about an hour and half and it ended up cranking but it was struggling when driving it to idle right. It was acting as though it wasnt getting gas. Well...did all the trouble shooting for the fuel pump and fuel filter and that was all ok. Low and behold the next day....car drove like it was new.

A few days later it started up again. Well my husband was down from Alabama so he cleaned up the throttle body and checked my air filter. All of that seemed to fix the issue. So for about a week and a half thats what I did when it started acting up and I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it idling when I was driving it and it wanted to shut off on me.

Fast forward....the problem was consistently getting worse and more frequent so on Monday I took it to Advanced to have them run a diagnostic test. Now I have had this car for a year. It threw up a crank shaft position sensor A circuit malfunction code when we bought it. (paid 800 bucks for the car). It has thrown that code every time its been checked for anything. However, this time it threw a "idle air control system" code. So per the advice of my ex husband, who is a Toyota mechanic, and a shop in East Milton, I unplugged the idle air control sensor. Car purred like a kitten and drove great.....for a day.

Well yesterday...I drove the car to take my daughter to school. Parked it when I got home. Drove it to work 2 hours later. Went and picked her back up from school and then home. Was home 15 min and went out to leave to go back to work and the car wouldn't crank. Well....did the whole throttle body cleaning...checked the air filter....and noticed that there was a new sound from the fuse box. So with that being said...pulled the cover off...listened again. Wiggled all the relays and fuses....car cranked right up. I refuse...REFUSE to drive it right now because I am terrified of getting stranded.

I've been told its spark plugs...coils...relays....the sensor....all sorts of things and I am just simply at a loss. Sorry for the small book.
