Question crazy oil leak/spray!

it initially started with a couple drips, now i see about 2x2 inches of spot under my car, see trails of oil. now today driving, my whole engine is smoking, i can see the oil on the bottom on the the front header collector, oil pan, catalytic converter, exhaust pipe.

also, i can see the spray of oil like an upward position from the top the header & valve cover. i've been trying to pin point it but no luck, oil filter is tight. it only leaks when the car is on. i decided to put a a piece of cardboard under the car, it consistently is leaking directly under the oil filter in drips, but not sure where the spray is coming from on top of engine.

any ideas?

Well if its spraying then the oil is under pressure, that could help pin point the location. But how hard could it be to see oil spraying?

Its the valve cover gasket. The oil pump pushes a decent amount of pressure plus your rocker arms bouncing around sloshing oil everywhere doesn't help.

Beat me to it! I had some slight spray issues as well and I had just tapped my oil pan, replaced the valve cover gaskets (front/back), replaced the oil cap, oil filter, and had just added a oil psi gauge. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from for awhile but eventually found it was from the sending unit area. For some reason it was a real b!tch to find by myself. Glad you got her fixed!
