Headlight harness/plug melted, how do I replace?

This is actually my friends GT that this happened on. I have never had it happen to my GS. And I searched but there seems to be no other instances of people having this happen, AND explaining their HOW TO FIX IT.

Any ideas?

When i got my car inspected the dealer told me my headlight connectors were melting too. They told me the connectors were like 11 a piece but it would cost 160 to put em on. Needless to say I didn't pay them to put them on and my headlights still work fine except the passenger side where it gets dull and i have to play with the connector to make it bright again. I guess there's nothing really to do except replace the connectors. Shouldn't be too hard though. Seems to me all you have to do is cut out the old connectors and solder in some new ones.

this is very common, teh best thing to do is go to Pepboys, autozone or a car store and get the apc heavy duty connectors. The install is easy, cut the 3 wires to get the old plug off and just connect the 3 new wires.

I think at www.suvlights.com you can get a new heavy duty harness that just plugs in on both sides without having to cut.
