Ithinkyou : who are you?Ithinkyou : who are you?Ithinkyou : who are you?Ithinkyou : who are you?
B16 G no dissasembulll!!!

Okay so i got a center section thats in good shape. BUT the C ring on the old one is rusted to hell!!!! I soaked it with PB blaster which was the best anit rust liquid i could find but that shit wont budge. Plus the best c ring pliers i could find are lame for this job. Being that the ring on the compressor is about 3 or 4 times as large as for an SSQV,they barely applied a sufficient amount of force for the BOV's c ring.

So i need some suggestions. Where to get some MEAN anit rust liquid and Like some industrial strenth C ring pliers.

i took it apart using regular Needle-Nosed Pliers, but you have to take hotside of the center section first. If it slips take grinder and grind pliers tips so it does not slip. And if if is seized just put thin rod you can use a nail and hit it with hammer as if you would compress it, that should help.

put thin rod in the hole and hit it with hammer as if you was compressing ring.
Once you see it moving use Needle-Nosed Pliers should work just fine.

A snap ring? They make a special tool for that, and it doesnt cost much.

Snap ring pliers

You should be able to get a pair at Lowes/ Home depot.

The one you have on picture is for VERY SMALL rings (i have this one). The ring on turbo is pretty solid and you need a good snap ring tool.

Here on this turbo rebuild writeup it says he used "Large-bore snap-ring pliers (3″ bore minimum - you can get one from McMaster-Carr as part# 5415A64)"

Mitsubishi TD04-13T Turbo Rebuild

I guess you could try those.

Pictures can be deceiving At work we have some monster Snap ring pliers, but youre in California it looks like. Try Snap-on tools or even Sears.

if anyone sees anything out of the ordinary please point it out. The inner part of the compressor had some black scuffing on about an 8th of the circumference, would that conclude shaft play or an imbalance of some sort right. The compressor seal def looks a bit worn to me, id say most of the rust on it was from the PB blaster and the other anti sieze liquid i soak it in. Since its bad i think ill try an take it apart just to have a look inside. The tip of the compressor blades were covered in oil as well... ill see if i can get it apart after i take a nap, long night of work. it.[
