gt3582r turbo kit process

so im finally getting close to finishing off my turbo part of the project.
still gotta sand the pipes down and polish them for the bling factor :-)

i ended up reworking the exhaust too since i didnt like the way the other one was. it was wayyyyy too low to the ground!

what do you guys think?

Great work as always. What kind of welder do you use? I remember seeing a lincoln electric in you older pics; is it a MIG or TIG?

Any suggestions on what to buy for exhaust work?

TIG

i would only use tig for any welding now because it is just a superior welding process over mig

Is that a worm gear clamp I see? I assume it's there just to see if everything fit correctly.

yes , even though im sure they'd be fine up to 30 psi because of the beading. without even any clamps on there, i had a hard time pulling the pipes off the coupler.. what a pain :\

right now im putting in the stock motor to test out all my wiring, leaks, breakin suspension, clutch, transmission, turbo and to make a base tune for the gt35r. -- i want to run 15psi again and see what it'll do prolly will make 350whp.

when im satisfied with everything running okay, my built evo 8 head w/ 4g64 block is going in (which is only a t-belt away from completion). hoping to make 650whp on that motor

I know what radiator that is. It comes from Summit and originally came out of a Scirocco.

easier is a good word, but i'd also say it's a lot more reliable than the 6g72

Xull,

Would you consider posting up costs (excl shipping) for fabbing up various piping (DP, IC, etc) for the turbo set up

Every car is different, every IC has different dimensions, every person wants the IC piping different. It would be impossible for him to create piping simply from a request. In order for it all to be dead on he'd have to have the car.

i have the same car, i can develop it based on the customers request, but little things like moving some wires out of the way etc may be required without having the car.

i know this car pretty much inside out now, i stripped it completely and built it from the ground up, so i usually know where things are supposed to go, and how much clearance to give

im not running much boost on the stock rs manifold, prolly 14-15psi -- and i agree with you, dont run too much boost on the stock manifold, cause it has a tendacy of blowing apart

but with the evo head, the stock cast manifold will be more than sufficient

Envious or emulate? if u can't beat em, join em....i'm now planning to mimic his old set up (50 trim) since he's been so successful and has no problems posting his #'s to prove it.

I'm still interested in hearing price ranges on the custom piping.

I should have a guy that can fab this up for me, but I always like to have another plan if it falls through. Besides, from what I hear, Xull's welds are > than the local guy.
