Waxed over a scuff mark... help?

I don't even know where to start with this except with this... blondes! She can't hide it no matter how dark she dyes it! Anyways..my gf put a nice scuff mark with her hiking boots on the side skirt of my car getting in and thought she would get it out with wax. Don't ask why, because I don't know either.

Is there an easy way for me to get through the wax to get the scuff off and then rewax it? Was thinking rubbing compound but wasn't sure if that would do the trick. Thanks!

Wax and grease remover? I have a can of it laying around, and I'm pretty sure you do too.

Clay bar your vehicle. Read the Detailing 101 thread I did on how to clay bar to educate yourself on how to do it correctly. If that doesn't work, then you might need to put a buffer to it with a cutting compound, then wax again.

Will the clay bar pull up the wax that was put on over the scuff mark? Is it okay to clay and wax a small area or should I do the whole side skirt?

Someone mentioned alcohol..does non acetone nailpolish remover work? I wouldn't think so but worth a shot?

To take the wax off just use dish soap.

do NOT put dish soap on your car.
Yes using a clay bar is going to remove your wax, if it wouldn't why would I tell you to wax your car again?

*shrug* I've never clay barred my car before so I know nothing about the product, the info in your detailing 101 thread doesn't have info about it really, just your step by step washing/claying/waxing process. Maybe I'll give it a shot, was thinking of redoing my headlights anyways..

What's there to know? I have a picture of the exact product I use and recommend and explain how to use it. You ask how to fix a problem yet don't care to bother searching for the products I posted therefore you never actually fix it... congrats on wasting both of our time.

Holy crap guys, this is not that complicated.

Get a microfiber, get some rubbing compound, put a dime sized amount on the cloth, rub the scuff off with firm circular rubbing motions, wipe it clean, put some wax over it, done. Same way you'd take a paint scuff off your car from someone bumping you in a parking lot, takes 10 minutes.
