HOW TO: Remove Headliner, Sunroof, and Sunshades

to remove you head liner, sun roof, and sun roof sun shades you will need:

(pics and nut sizes will be posted this week sometime)

Phillips head screw driver
Flat head screw driver
Sockets sizes... (will post up by this weekend sizes)
Channel locks or pliers

first start by removing the corner caps on the rear panels inside the hatch section. they just pop off you can use a flat head to pry them off. next remove the screw hidden behind this cap on each side. there will also be two screw on the edge were the seats meet the panels. remove these as well. the whole panel does not need to come out! pull on the panel until the upper part snaps out of its holding position. the only screws holding it in place are underneath the bottom section of the rear seat now. these can stay in!

second remove the plastic cover over the seat belt to reveal a bolt. remove this bolt to detach the seat belt. one this is done pull the bottom panel that you partially removed towards the center of the rear seat to reveal 3 Phillip head screws holding the rear pillar sections on. two screws are towards the front of the car out in the open and the third is hidden towards the trunk were the rear seat seats when in the up position. once these are removed pull pillar panels off.

third remove the front pillar panels these just pop off as well. once your don't this your no ready to remove the 2 Phillips head screws holding each visor on and the 1 screw holding each visor lock clip on. once the screws are removed unplug the wires by the connectors if u have lighted visors. these should now be completely detached along with the locking clips. pry off the sun roof switch cover and pull off the rubber seal around your sun roof. take a flat head screw driver and or pliers and pry the 3 round clips out that are located in the head liner above the rear seat. your head liner is now detached, pull either the driver side or passenger side or both window seal gasket off or just bend the lip of it back to were the edge of the head liner is revealed and your head liner will now fall out. put both front seats in the lay down position and remove head liner out the passenger side of car.

fourth there is a shield on the left and right side of the now revealed roof and sun roof. there are 2 bolts holding each side in place. remove these bolts and set aside. there are now a vacuum hose on each corner of the sun roof just slide these hoses off. there are now only 3 nuts on each side of the sunroof holding it up. (MAKE SURE YOU OR SOMEONE IS HOLD? PUSHING UP ON THE SUNROOF WHILE REMOVING THESE BOLTS!!!! SUNROOF WILL FALL RIGHT OUT) remove these one at a time rotating from each side to not put alot of strain on one side over the other. once these are removed your sun roof will now drop out.

fifth, now with your sun roof out you will see a screw on each side on ur sun roof tracking on the upper glass side at the back towards the trunk part. remove the screw form each side and slide the rubber stop out of each side. on the upper part of the tracking you will see a black bar that extends across to each side. loosen the two screws on each side. do not remove the screws! turn sun roof over and you will now see two Phillips head screws on each side of the tracking. remove these screws completely and now you can slide you sun roof vent shades out of its tracking. be sure to remove the back section first and when removing the front portion lift up on the black bar that you loosened the screws to on the top side of the tracking so the clips on the end will slide under the bar. your sunroof, head liner, and sun shades are now completely removed.
