how can i make a local meet or something of non members?

im very antisocial/shy/not talkitive/whatever, but im trying to change, and i maybe wanna get a group of the local 3g eclipses, or any eclipses i guess, and have just a lil group or something. maybe get em to join this site. but i dont know how to get theyre attention. like i said, i suck at talking to people. i was thinking maybe flyers? as local auto shops if they can post it up? or if i see one parked, key it in the side? ok, that one wasnt serious... but what should i do? itd be cool having opinions in person.

an example would be my muffler. yall think its crappy, but everyone i know (which isnt alot), even people who HATE ricers, like the way it sounds. but yall dont know because yall arent here ya know?

im just looking for friends. thinking maybe this is a way? what do yall think?

and i know this really isnt a meet or anything... i didnt know where else this went though. kinda wish i couldve made it in a more high traffic section, but i didnt know where else it could go... so sorry in advanced if this is the wrong place, i really dont know where it should go

Why not try a meet and greet? The going out to dinner thing is a bit played out and nobody new seems to want to show up. Try hosting a BBQ at the lake or something. The flyers idea was a good one. Leave a stack at some of the more widely-known speed shops, if they'll let you. Pass more out in person at some of the known weekly/monthly car gatherings such as the one on Tuesdays in McKinley at TX Roadhouse.

Flyers are a good idea. But the main point of this all is to just straight up be social. Just start talking to any/everyone you want. Its how you make friends in the first place... kindergarden 101. Besides, even if you did host a BBQ, you would have to be social at the BBQ for it to be successfull.

Go around to the local areas you know, just start talking. Ask if they would be interested in such a deal, and see if they have friends that would like it too. Before you know it, your have a couple dozen people. Now if you see people on the streets or roads, signal them to pull over, and make small talk.

If they are going to be snoby asses about everything and not talk, dont feel bad, who wants to be friends with them anyways.

yeah, i guess i could just find the people and talk to em... im just worried theyd be those stuck up kids... ive had some cars and trucks pass me and rev up like "what a wimpy car" or whatever other things ya know? "mines better" and all that. but i dont think i could ever signal anyone over. thatd be scary. maybe i could follow them to theyre home and stalk them for a few days to see if they seem cool..... or not.

but i guess ill try that soon. just talking to em. if i see em, talk. see how that goes

its cool. i make the drive up there a few times. im part of a fish forum, and ive done a few meets with them also. and concerts, and all kinds of stuff up there. i even saw someone here post about a weekly car meet on ricekillers, with all kinds of those fancy nice cars, and im prolly gonna go to that sometime. though they might not like the car... even though someone told someone on here about it... so maybe they have these cars too, but mainly aweosme muscle, fancy cars

thi sucks...

well i was getting taco bell a few minutes ago in the drive through, and this maroon eclipse, nice black rims, and boomin speakers(if your here sorry) pulles up next to me behind all the drive through stuff and sais something, but i didnt know he was talking to me, and the drive through lady was already confusing me cuz she said "How are you doing?" twice and i repsonded twice and took forever... so i drove off when she said go to the window and i heard him say "alright dude" llike a "leave then, bitch" kinda thing... so i stopped right away, but he already drove off. after i got my food, i drove around town twice looking for him to stop him... couldnt find hiim. i might know where he works. try to find him tomorrow or something. i feel dumb...

i really wasnt. i was in a catholic school for a while, so i grew up with 25ish people, then moved to public schooll in 8th grade, and made friends with the worst person to make friends with... and that was pretty much it... untill a lil later. but still not much.

Anyways dude, just dont be nervous. Like i told you, if people are going to be duchebags when you first talk to them, who would want to be friends with them anyways...

Just make flyers, post them up, and carry on with that plan.

well most people need about 2-3 weeks to ask off from work. I suggest doing it on a weekend, in about 4ish weeks. Maybe sooner. You dont want it to be too far away, or else people will forget.

I would suggest to add in there to contact you to let you know they are going and if they are bringing anyone. You need to get a rough estimate on how much food/drinks you will need to bring for your lil get together. Bring more than you need, just incase of last minute walk ins. I would also suggest you might not want to make it for JUST eclipses. Unless that is what you really want. I would make it a mitsubishi enthusiast meet rather than just 1g-4g's.

Also, make sure these posters are laminated (sp?). If it rains you dont want them to be trashed.

i dont know if i can laminate them or not, but theres really not many outside places i can put em. i was thinking in stores, IF THEY LET ME, in the window or at the counter or something...

i talked to one of those eclipses i posted about in the other thread, the purple and brown one. maybe its orange, i dunno. but it looks NICE up close. but he said i can post some at his shop. and he said he might wanna come. so thats good.

ill upload it to photobucket and post the new one. see if its good. im prolly gonna post em up tomorrow, so i need em done tonight

What you should do is find the local colleges and plaster them on all the 3G's you see there. College kids won't pass up on free food especially if you tell them that beer is going to be there for those who can drink. Then if you get a small gathering you can make another flyer with pics of the previous event and it'll probably bring more people out.

College kids won't pass up on free food especially if you tell them that beer is going to be there for those who can drink. Then if you get a small gathering you can make another flyer with pics of the previous event and it'll probably bring more people out. EDIT: You should leave it as hodogs LOL
