Simple Brake pad question

As you can probably tell by my S-name, I have the economy version Eclipse (2000 GS... SOHC, grrrr ) I plan to do a few simple upgrades, but it's all stock right now.
I need to service my brakes, and my question regarding them is simple. (no aftermarket speculation) What is the stock equipment on a GS? Semi-metallic? Ceramic? I've heard different things from different sources, and I just don't want to be jipped into sub-standard equipment or damage my rotors with material(s) that aren't suited to my needs. ...It's really just a commuter car right now, after all....
albeit a pretty one

I didn't even get to catch it. Pretty awkward if you ask me.

Stock Mitsu pads are an organic material. Good replacement pads include Hawk HPS's, Axxis Metal Masters, and Porterfield R4-S's.

So I gather from this response and from what the dealership told me today that "semi-metallic" is stock. They (dealership fella) said only the Endeavor comes with Ceramics. Thanks for the input, you guys have given me a little more to research and consider. Anybody else have any tips?
...Oh, and I don't really have the funds to REPLACE the rotors, just gonna MACHINE, or "turn", the ones I have now and renew the pads and shoes (for the rear drums which I hope to replace with disks).

I was told by an import shop that my girlfriend goes to for her Civic that Mitsubishi Motors uses "Sumi-Komo" brand brake pads for all their stock brakes. If this is indeed the case, it would make a good addition to the FAQ under "brakes". Currently, there is no info on brakes other than recommended after-market parts.
