PROTOTYPE MEGAN FULL COILOVERS

well i've been lazy about posting all these pics..
but here they are lol

these new coilovers KICK ASS
my car is being used for the prototyping/testing of them
the ride is absolutely awesome
excellent quality all around

they are made by the same factory as the apexi coilovers
ben (NAPALM) helped me install them
he was pretty impressed with them...and he has JIC coilvers
actually the ride on mine was a lot nicer lol
more street friendly

so once i ok that these are without any flaws,
they'll start carrying them for our cars

is there a fitting for the front sway bar endlinks?

it's been over a year since I worked on a 3G, I can't remember where on the strut it was located. I don't see it on the strut at all.

is that a triple locking spring perch? holy shit.. i cant even stand the dual perch design on my teins. the lower perch always loosens itself and starts to thread downward, and whenever i hit an imperfection of the road i can hear them jiggling on the threads. makes this ugly metal on metal sound.

don't quite understand the question...lol

the ride is excellent no matter how low or how high you have it
ride height doesn't affect how much travel the actual shock has
and it's 32 way adjustable on the softness or hardness
all the way hard u can't even push the car down...
all the way soft u can push it down

You arent tightening them enough.

BTW: THe upper-most locks are to adjust the spring preload, the lower lock is to adjust the ride height.

These things are pretty nice guys.
But like all coilovers, They can be a big POS if they are in the wrong hands, or if they are setup by someone who knows what they are doing, they can be bad ass.

Wow they look real nice get some pics of the car lowered not just the rear it would be nice it looks with them.I would ask to see how low they can go but that would mess the alignment up so I wont ask that.

Bah, you suck - I saw the message on their website a while back and had offered my stock suspension to them. Was told that they already had one from a 3G, I guess it was you Oh well, I still haven't gotten mine lowered yet so the stock suspension is still on the car...until Thursday from the sounds of it.

But those things look awesome. Definitely good to see more parts coming out for the 3G - the more companies, making more stuff for our cars, the better.

That is the same spring rates at the tein super street coilovers, but the dampners have more adjusment pre-load can be adjusted independant of ride height. It seems like some good coilovers for the price.

10kg/mm=559lb/in and 6kg/mm=336lb/in.

actually they're great for any price! lol
comparable to anything else out there...
they're EXACT SPECS as the APEX'I N1 Damper ExV (Expert Type V)
they are manufactured by the same company

1. Does anyone know what the height range from stock is? How low can it go and how high?
2. Do you need to buy a front and rear camber kit for these?
3. I'm trying to decide between these and the TEIN SS Coilovers-- any thoughts?

From my understanding, these have pillowball mounts just like the tein so you should be able to adjust the camber. Atleast 10 sets to my knowledge have been sold. 3 to 8G owners(If i remember correctly) without any negative feedback to date.
Might want to give Dan a yell(WeSellCarParts).

How high, I dunno nor do I know why you would want to do that. As far as how low, you can park the car on the ground to the point you can't drive if that's really what you want. I personally have mine lowered about 3.5" from stock height. you can see in my avatar and signature.

For anything lowered over 2".. yes. Front and backs are needed.

The Megans are 32 way adjustable where as the TEIN's are 16 way if I remember correctly. (not sure, please verify). I think the Megans are a nicer design as they copycat the Apex-I coilovers which are up around 1600/set.

How in the world this makes any sense. The front on the Megan's has an adjustable camber plate. There is no need for a camber kit for the front. The rears you will need a camber kit.

The Tein's are 32 way adjustable with the EDFC, not sure without it.

I know the fronts already have a camber kit, but what kind should I buy for the rear? Does the brand really matter?

TEINs are 16 way adjustable without the EDFC- 32 with it.

THANKS EVERYONE! I think I'm gonna pick me up a set of these.
If anyone knows how high they can go-- that'd be great. Also what brand rear camber kit too. Thanks again.

You have to get a full alignment each time you raise or lower your car.

yeah, I know. That sucks. I'm going to try and keep it lowered throughout the winter, but I also don't want to rip the body of my car on ice either.

Doesn't really matter, but I used SPC and they look like if you look inside the fenderwell and they're easy to deal with.
