Who wants to take a stab at this muffler question?

Wasn't going to post this but figured maybe someone experienced this
Little background
My 99 2g has 4-2-1 header , cat delete (resonator) and the Magna flow stainless cat back (resonator and muffler)
It's about 5-6 years old. That set up , like any magnaflow , is super mellow and deep with a little bark when revved over 5k
Fast forward a few winters and the car isn't perfect anymore. It sat 2 years in my garage occasionally moving it here and there. Basically the 3G replaced it entirely.
Been using it this year as a winter car and that muffler is as loud as shit. You would swear it wasn't a muffler at all and just a $30 noise cannon.

Checked EVERYTHING. Rock solid. No leaks. Nothing.
One comment somewhere said it could have rotted out from the inside or be filled with water. Really?

I have the same 2 mufflers from my GMPP kit on another car and never had an issue.
Any ideas ? I could post a video

Sounds like either the packing inside the magnaflow went to shit or there's an open seam or hairline crack you're missing. What's the Magnaflow warranty? I think it's life time.

Packing probly rotted out. When the exhaust doesn't get hot ei you moved the car around it leaves water in it because it doesn't evaporate and that eats the webbing in the mufflers and resonators and wrecks the packing.

Yep. Mindful of this I held my Celica at 4500 RPM for about 2 minutes before shutting it down for the winter. I forgot my snow blower was behind the car and nearly melted a hole in it!

There's some things to do before parking a car for a long period of time and getting the exhaust good n hot is one of them.

Sucks ... Makes me wonder now ...
My Regal and my Spyder are both "stored" now. The regal has the GMPP system which is basically unmarked magnaflows. The Spyder is still all stock (but sounds great for a stock system IMHO)

So I contacted Magnaflow after reading everyone's replies. Thanks for the ideas and help.
The rep , Mark, at magnaflow helped me out while munching on some chips. Said he doesn't have anything that will help me. Told me to find proof of purchase, in my case eBay and PayPal screen shots from 5-6 years ago , take it to a authorized retailer and start the process

Sounds like it could work. With my experience it also sounds like a wild wacky goose chase.
It's just a winter car now. I need it every day. I hope if this does work, I'm not sending back my system BEFORE the new one gets here

Worth a shot, but most Maganflow mufflers are like $100-150 so may not even be worth your time. Just get a new muffler and have it welded in.

Well here is an update. I talked to nice guy at a local authorized dealer. I have not had the time to dig deep into my ebay and paypal to find the original purchase. However , he said once i found it, he would help me out in getting the replacement.
Doing this over the phone on a work break, neither one of us could find this cat back system for the 1999 eclipse gs. Hmm maybe I bought the one listed for 1998? I dont know. What we do know is , there is one for a 1998 and one for a 2000.
From the years I had the car, I am pretty sure the 95-99 exhausts are the same right?

And Bitter, yeah I hear ya man. I will rock the crap out of it till spring but IF its possible that I am covered under a warranty, then I guess I will spend another day cursing under this car to replace it.

She hates it - she said for the noise it makes we should be doing 80 not 40

It's coming up as 15691 for 1995-1998 2.0

I did find confusion for the 3G. I see 2 part numbers. 15775 (01-05) and 15744 (01-05)

So no 1999 and 2000 and 2 part numbers for the 3g

3G is likely Cali and non Cali. I think they're different lengths.
