Cdedeo8412 : who are you?
Exhaust questions

I recently came by an electronic butterfly exhaust valve, and am debating using the second valve to make a straight pipe, I’m curious if that can have any damaging effects on the engine, and if so, how I can avoid them (I’m well aware it’ll be ricey and obnoxious) any help would be awesome!

Dumping the exhaust would simply make you loose torque if anything. Would be silly.

The way to do it would be to put it after the cat(s) and before the muffler obviously. This way you get the louder sound by cutting out before the muffler, but not ruining your catalytic converter(s). Cats stay clean by getting hot. Cutting out before it one would destroy it by plugging it up with unburnt particles, make it fail smog inspections if you have them, or robbing performance when the cutout is closed.
