So... before the weather gets bad anyone? Meet up, couple hours? Don't make it a huge production?

Sept 18 works for me. The day after I'm goin to Vegas. WEEEE.

We can just find some nice place to be. Close to some sort of food establishment because I know I'll be hungry. Chill, shoot the shit. Get some photos. And be on our way! I think it'd be fun. *shrugs*

XtremEclipse : who are you?
what day is september 18? saturday? hmm...doesn't look like i'll be there unless we do it in the morning. i need to be at work by 2 and i won't be outta there till 11 or so, maybe later. perks of working at a restaurant...

...by the way, i'm very very seriously looking into a turbokit from a.a.i. that is being offered right now. prolly going for the 8.5 psi kit. maybe if i'm lucky i'll be the first boosted 4cyl 3g in omaha, haha. you guys think i should bother spending a bunch of money on coilovers so i don't have to worry about sitting too low in the wintertime or just get some kybs and the prokit or something?

well that's the thing, we're busy on friday and saturday nights so those are usually pretty unacceptable to have off unless i request waaaaaaay in advance. seeing as how this job is kind of hard to come by and we go through chefs weekly it almost seems...

actually [and don't tell anyone, haha] there's been a couple of guys that have cooked while they were sick. i only go as far as cooking with hayfever so it's not like anybody can catch it or anything...

...so hey, i figure i'd ask u guys since yer in the area and know how driving in the snow is around here. u think i should just get the prokit/kyb set-up and have my car dropped all the time, even in the snow? or should i spend an extra grand on coilovers so it wouldn't have to sit that low during the winter/snow season?

Depends man. Often times I see ice chunks lying on the road. And I'm sure if I had mine dropped... I sure wouldn't want a front lip or anything else because I'm positive it wouldn't be nice on the car. Last winter I came away with just some minimal cosmetic scratches/damage on the underbelly of my car.

Just remember, if it snows a shit ton... people will be lookin for ya to plow the snow out of their way.

i had problems getting around this past winter...pretty much just in neighborhoods.
i have kyb's, tokicos, and pro kit on my GS. i thought about getting the JIC's but figured why spend the $ cuz i'll never be on the track and the streets suck so why get them to beat them up.

i already plow snow...but the silly 4cyl i got doesn't move it too well, ha. i might just end up going with the prokit and kybs anyway. i mean, if i'm stuck, i'm stuck...there'll be very little i could do about it being at its' height now or about an inch and three quarters lower. just gotta get an underbody wash more often is all.

who knows...i got the equipment in my garage, i'll just change springs constantly like a madman between the seasons!!!

Cowgirl : who are you?
On the 18th I'll be working til 1, then cleaning my car for a show on Sunday.

I have the Pro kit & KYBs. Last year I fawked up my front end on an ice chunk, but being 2" higher wouldn't have mattered. So, now there is a nice steel bar in my Blitz bumper and any ice I meet will be dead. bwahahahaha! (But it probably won't see snow this year when I finish my CRX beater.)

Sundays are the only days I can say that I have no prior engagements, cause I work sporadically at Pier 1 on 74th and 8:30-2:30 M-F at my other job.

oh, and as far as i can tell [unless we randomly 'lose' more chefs] i won't be working on sundays so sundays would definately work for me until i say otherwise

Are you just going for the effect? I'd be VERY wary about putting anything carbon fiber on the front of my car, especially if it's driven in the winter. CF may be one of the strongest materials...but the coating over it isn't.

I dunno man, I've gone through 2 winters lowered and with the Blitz without any problems. (It was my own stupidity that fawked it up last year.) Just don't drive through chunks of snow because they're usually ice.

actually come to think of it i'd be more worried about getting my car high-centered than crackin an ice chunk in the middle of the street. but my car is gonna be lowered in the next few weeks anyway...i'll learn how to drive it

I have a bunch of scrapes on the underside of my front bumper but theyre not from ice chunks, I hit a curb goin about 60 on a highway. It was this past summer but as soon as i get a damn part time job , i can get my WW Kit i want... as llong as i can afford the 235 a mo payment for the car at the same time. You guys are scaring me with all this winter stuff. Luckily i have a garage parking permit for the school year.

driveways with the raised entryway eat my front bumper alive if i'm not careful so i got lots of scrapes under the front bumper. gives my car character!!! and don't be scared, just don't expect to get around well in the snow cuz hitting things isn't as big a deal...well, except other cars...

i live in a small circle that's never plowed and one day last year i got stuck just outside my driveway

my house ain't that spectacular... but i can fit 8 cars in my driveway.
i'm by Northwest High School.

we could go somewhere in West Omaha or East Lincoln.
there's a million places in west omaha. the only thing i can think of on the east side of lincoln is Legends on 84th....

Too bad the fianceť and I won't be in the house we might be getting...half of the backyard is paved. My suggestion is Old Chicago on 132nd & Maple.

Mmmm Legends Bar and Grill.

That's so close to my folks house where I grew up. I now live in the north east side of lincoln... and I don't think my driveway could hold more than 5 cars.

i don't care. there's really nothing of value in my house except the CPU's.
all of the flooring is getting replaced right after xmas. we could just pull up chairs in the garage and bring the grill out front. O.C. is fine too.
Lincolnites?...input?

My suggestion for time is 5 or 6pm. That way it's still daylight, but also time to get dinner. Hang out for a couple hours, and it won't be too late for the guys from Lincoln when they head back home.

let's shoot for 5:00 that way we can catch the end of the games that are on.

david, you're correct...can't miss it. there's an outlet mall there and some other stuff.
i'll meet you there about 4:30? should only take you about 20 min. to get there after you hop on the freeway.
