First big Evo Meet of 2011....Red Rocks, Sunday April 10 @ 10 a.m.

Get your cars cleaned!! Throw a new coat of wax on!! get 'em running (this includes me)!!

Get to the first Evo meet of 2011.
- We will be having it at Red Rocks amphitheater at 10 am.

This is a great spot to take pictures of your car or family as the Red Rocks makes for a nice background.

This will be time for the noobies to meet the seasoned members on here and finally put a screen name with a face/car.

We had a huge meet there a few yrs ago and I have attached a link to the pics of that meet.
AWD Pirates Meet - 4/1/08

After we get done we usually go to grab a bite somewhere like Hooters or another fine establishment that can handle large groups or you are more than welcome to break off and go out on your own.

Meeting at Colorado Mills Mall to caravan up to Red Rocks before, see the map below for the specific parking lot. We will be leaving at 9:45 AM from Colorado Mills.

SOOOOOO yeah basically I got us invited, read before asking stupid questions like when is it and stuff. I think they keep moving the meeting location, so just some reading, as will i. I think this will be fun as hell.

Hell yeah me too. I'm actually working on another turbo build. So I'm hoping to have that hideous dent fixed and to be boosted again by then. Hoping so anyways. My funds are limited as I don't have a job right now.

well I spent wayyy to much last time. This is gonna be my build this time.
Evo 8 Stock Turbo - $150 (with o2 and internal wastegate)
Evo 8 Stock Manifold - $55-65
4g63 manifold flange - $40 (turbo will hit starter without extra)
evo 8 fuel rail - $10-20
Walbro 255lph fuel pump - $80
evo 8 intercooler piping - $40-80 (i'm getting a deal of all the piping and fuel rail for $40)
Blow Off Valve - $30-150
WRX 440 or Evo 560 Injectors- $50-100 (depends on where or who you buy from)
J-pipe ~$40
AT transmissions use evo ECU for dual ECU's so about another - $80
gauges and tunning = depending on brand and who from

So we're at about $600+ before tune and gauges. I already have some of this stuff I'm about 1/3 of the way. Most jobs you can make about 500 in 2 weeks so

Yeah i'd be down to help you out when you decide to. Just start collecting parts. Start out simple, make sure you're getting the right stuff and not spending to much. Start on craigslist and find local stuff so you're not paying for shipping. Leave c3g, ebay, and Evom your last options if you cant find something, cause you'll more than likely have to pay for shipping. try calling around for evo shops to, they have shit laying around all the time.

Another option is going the 2nd gen eclipse way. The way I went before. like 2g manifolds and turbo etc. depends on what deals you find. Have patience. It sucks but it pays off.

This might be something you will find me and Ivory8g at in his Evo X.

If any of you need tuning services, feel free to contact me. I have been tuning Ivory8g's boosted 8th Gen Galant, and most recently doing the tuning for his Evo X, also have a second Evo X that was put on my plate this week for tuning as well.

Also, if you want to run the Evo ECU, I can produce the intermediate harnesses for them

oops i did forget the actual intercooler for the piping =p
but yeah basically. I mean from here you still want and wideband and a boost gauge. Tapping for the oil feed and return. I just got a glowshift oil filter sandwich and some lines at a shop up here. There the smaller little things that are after depending on what came with your buys. You can look at other builds in the forced induction section to some more ideas for builds but this is the basic

So far I have some stuff in mind for a build.

Big 16G Turbo
Evo3 Mani
Evo 8 Ecu (ordered today)
Still doing some research on what injectors to get, and fuel rail.
Intercooler + Piping (ordered piping today)
Walbro Pump 255lph
Oil Feeder/Return Lines
BOV (probably the Greddy Type-S bov)
Gaskets

I know there are other things I'm missing.
Just with the little stuff I have, my build is already over $1000, and thats not including the other stuff I need.

idk if its a must but it might be a good thing. Cause I was looking at Willz sloowwww turbo build or whatever in the forced induction section and saw that he isn't using it. I think if you're just using a td05/16g turbo. Its not really that big of a turbo so I dont think its a must.

just shop around for low prices. you can easily spend big money if you buy things new. i'm just looking for things for low miles on them. I'm picking up a set of intercooler piping today for $30. and evo fuel rail $20

Mando, you could use that turbo. Its just different than the setups i know. I'm sure we could make it work if you wanted

Thanks man. I'm getting paid this week hopefully soo i'll be collecting more parts. I'm excited

IC piping. I can do the complete set with couplers for $100. That's from the turbo outlet to the throttle body. You might be able to find some cheaper somewhere else but this is what some guy PM'd me on another forum.

I'm going to start a thread in the FI section soon. Planning on getting a lot of the little stuff at the end of the month. Been doing a lot of researching non stop. That'll be cool to have our setups before the meet, but that's not going to happen.

Last I checked on the ECU flashing, the 2000 ECU is flashable with the Tactrix 2.0 Cable (which is all Tactrix is selling anymore as it has replaced the previous 1.3 cable).

The down side to tuning on your stock ECU is there is no knock sensor in the circuit (thus why you would want the Evo ECU)

Dj - I got your PM regarding the ECU, been really busy with work and a few other things but I hope to start making those intermediate harnesses soon.

With an intermediate harness that converts your OEM harness connectors to the correct ECU connectors and pinout for the EVO yea.

Hmm, thought the Evo ECU was direct plug in, just the immobilizer would need to be deleted.

From what I understand the 8th Gen Galant and 3rd Gen Eclipse ECUs use 3 rows on the connectors (3 connectors on the M/T and 4 on the A/T Ecu). The Evo ECU uses a 2 row connector (still 3 connectors as an M/T ECU).

I may have the information mixed up possibly?

I thought I read somewhere that the aftermarket fuel rails should work.

I'm not entirely sure about that. If you want aftermarket, why not just get an aftermarket fuel rail for our car instead of the evo? just make sure it has for flow rating than stock, like the evo does.

I got the quarter panel welded on today. Its coming together. I need to grind and body fill next. Then paint!

Though I may buy an intercooler from them, I heard that their turbo's are knock offs. Check out Forced Performance Turbochargers and Modern Automotive Performance: Your source for turbocharged sport compact performance!.
