throw-out bearing? and clutch? maybe? just suggestions tho
2000 GS Pops Out Of 4th Gear
Hey Guys,
I've seen posts regarding this problem but wanted to get specific on whether I need a new tranny or if something else may also be going wrong. When my car is idling I hear an annoying metallic type sound that will go away when I simply engage the clutch (no gear). Once I'm in gear the noise returns and I can shift gears normally. My mechanic originally told me that I would need a clutch soon and I've been saving coin to get that done. Yesterday the car just popped out of 4th gear and does it pretty randomly. All other gears are fine. I have 97k miles on 2000 GS and I baby my clutch. Any thoughts?
