Hey I just bought this 2001 Eclipse GT with a 5 speed transmission and I had noticed my engine was over heating when I slowed down. I thought it was the thermostat so I changed it. during the refill the resivor was full but the radiator was empty. I poured a half gallon of fluid to start it off, then started the car. I noticed it started to leak from this spot and I have no idea what is supposed to be there. Please someone tell me what is missing from the transmission and why it is leaking out radiator fluid.:dunno:

Fluid is not leaking from your transmission... that is a knock out plug for changing your throw out bearing.

If you have coolant on the trans then its leaking from the water housing on the motor. Coolant never touches your trans.
