I wanted to know if anyone has done a big resonator and muffler delete on their V6 3g GT. Am thinking of doing this but wanted to know if the drone would be bad or if it’s manageable. My eclipse is fully stock and a manual also. If anyone has videos of the sound if you have this setup or could suggest otherwise that would be great. Thanks guys!!!

At this moment, I am running my car with just the resonator and muffler delete. I do get a lot of drone when I first accelerate, but then it mellows out and you would not know the difference. I do plan on installing a dual muffler set up. I just ordered a stainless cat back system, but do not intend to use the muffler that comes with it. I will use the twin set up I have installed on the car .... I just need to have a two-into-one stainless pipe made, and then the complete exhaust is stainless. Sorry...no sound clip.
Here is a link to the cat back I ordered. The muffler from this kit looks just like the ones on the car now.

I know I am not the average 3g owner. I am way past the "look at me stage" in life. I drive old cars because I see no reason to spend money on new ones. ...J.D.

So I actually ran a 3rd cat, resonator, and muffler delete for awhile. It's actually healthier for the engine to have a decent resonator in the system. It's better for back pressure, and you might think it sounds cooler because of the backfires on deceleration. But your piston rings won't.

But it does sound pretty good honestly. Now I'm running a resonator my fabricator friend built from scratch and my 3.0 definitely has more power and sounds way cleaner.

Very few people think about back pressure. If the back pressure is too low in the exhaust system, torque will suffer due to the cylinder pressure being lower. Too MUCH back pressure and the exhaust flow is restricted and peak horsepower is reduced. ...J.D.

Back pressure is a myth, it's exhaust pulses and cylinder scavenging but that's too complicated so people just say back pressure.

100% agree.
Yeah I just use back pressure as a term for it. Most people understand back pressure better than me trying to explain it in greater detail how a resonator essentially equalizes the exhaust pulses if done correctly (with the correct type of resonator)
Science is fun 🙂
