I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring I got for parts for my eclipse. Unfortunately mine was totaled and will no longer need parts. It has 74k original miles hit me up for parts

The sedan and convertible Stratus' and Sebrings are 100% Chrysler. Not one ounce is related to the Eclipse.
The Sebring and Stratus coupes are 99% Mitsubishi, only thing Chrysler on them is the Dodge and Chrysler emblems and names. These were the ones built along side the 3rd gen Eclipse in the old DSM plant. Same goes for the Dodge Avenger and 2g Eclipse, and Dodge Stealth and Mitsu 3000gt.

Soo, I was doing some research on part numbers, and found something quite interesting; 01 to 05 Sebrings share at least some of the same parts as the 3G eclipse, and I was wondering if anyone knows (besides the body, of course) how similar the mechanical and electrical components are for the two...

No it doesnt, it states exactly what i posted above, and I was even part of that thread you linked. One post even mentioned to make sure not to grab from a car with a 2.7 because its all Chrysler. That same generation sedan and convertible came with a 2.7 v6, or a 2.4 4 cyl, which is DOHC, unlike the SOHC that came in the coupes and Eclipses. Completely different. To ensure compatibility, look for the placard under the hood. Here is the one from my 01 Stratus Coupe.This link and cross reference says otherwise

Also, check the door shape. Stratus/ Sebring and Eclipse doors can swap. They are identical in shape, only that the Eclipse has the three "ribs" and the Stratus/ Sebring doors are smooth. Same interior as the Eclipse 01/02, but the 03-05 models were changed.
If the interior doesnt look like this on an 01/02, its not the same as the Eclipse and parts arent interchangeable.
However, such parts as ac compressors, alternators, water pumps, fuel pumps, wheels, starters, batteries, etc. MAY be interchangeable with little or no modifications.

Not a single part will work between the Chrysler Sedans/convertibles and the 3g Eclipse.

Absolutely, I have first hand experience with this 🤣. I'll never forget the early days of owning a Stratus coupe, going to the local parts store and getting parts for a sedan and having to make a return trip. Once I starting referencing the same year Eclipse it was issue free, every time.
