I am having a hell of a time re installing the transmission. Its a 5 speed. pulled off no issues with the exception of the control arm but once I cleared that it came out. I have the engine supported by the passenger mount and a jack for raising and lowering. I have the transmission on a hoist and I get it almost to the point of being aligned and no matter what I do I cant get it to go under the water neck nub.

any pointers to get this transmission back in would be great. I am pretty frustrated and feel defeated. and that normally not the case.

help is needed from people who have one it. techniques .

thanks

Recently I change my clutch both the engine and the trans were out of the car so it was super easy.

The last time the clutch was changed with the engine still in the bay, we used an engine support that was resting on the fender rails. That allowed us to remove all the motor mounts so the engine had lateral movement. The transmission should also have clocking motion so that you can get it into the aligned clutch spindle opening.
