I was wondering is anyone has tried to fit 3.8 Mivec heads on a 3.0? I have a spare mivec head and the valves measure around 90mm across. The combustion chamber is about 94mm across. The 3.0 bore is 91.1mm. The compression would be very low, but I discovered that the 3000gt has a domed piston that appears to almost perfectly match the 3.8 domed piston. Those pistons are very inexpensive. That should give a 3.0 pretty good compression with Mivec heads. I don’t have a 3.0 or I would try this. The top of the cylinder could be notched to clear the intake valves if needed. The real question is why and what kind of power would it make? If someone already has a good 3.0 it might be worth it to try.
