Bumper Help???

Hey, I just joined this forum here because I got a 2001 Eclipse GT! But I also have a problem. As you can see, in the link, it has a ugly a$$ "bra" on the car. Under the bra, the bumper is cracked! I got the car this way and I came up with a plan on how to make it look better, but I wanted your guys opionons first.

what if I buy the 100 dollar bumper off ebay, in the link below, and a 30 dollar grille off amazon, would it work?? My dad would help me install it, we pretty much know how to do it. We'll paint it too, because it's just primer.

Besides the bumper, the car is very nice and clean. So, let me know what you guys think. I know it wont look perfect or good, but i want the car to look more decent.:mecry2: also gonna buy some dual halo headlights for the car.

I wouldn't consider those ugly wheels "nice and clean" but okay. Yes, both of those links would work fine. But since you're getting a new bumper i would upgrade to the 03-05 if i were you. And get a grillecraft grill instead of that cheap one. They're alot better quality wise.

Awsome, idea though.... would the bumper fit with no alteration, though??? Also the I picked the bumper and the grille I showed you based on the cheap price (not looking to spend alot and it would be easy to install them)

Alterations would we fog lights, and turn signals. It's been discussed hundreds of times. Just search for all the how-to's and such. And the cheaper products are not only worse quality, they're usually harder to install too. Without detailed instructions.

Those are some ugly wheels, the reason why they say its the best part is cause you drive a turd.:yesway:

Those guys are just jackasses, do whatever you want with your own car.

To do a complete bumper swap you'll have to buy the bumper fogs, turns and inserts. if you go the certifit way it shouldn't run you anymore than 200$

Haha, wow what an a-hole! :fawk: I'd change em if I could but I dont have money, I'm a high school student. Personally, I'm not digging the chrome look, but whatever. Funny how people make fun of others they don't know. Yeah, thanks for you guys who are actually helpful.

I've decided that I'm just going to just fix the original bumper, sand it down, and repaint it to the color of the car. It'll be better than struggling with a cheap quality bumper, IMO. Opinions?:scratch:

i'm looking for a 2003 bumper to replace the one on my 2000 gs it looks so much better.

its not a cheap bumper. i bought an 03 bumper off ebay and its just as good as oem. did the car come with the stock wheels? if so, you might want to swap them back on. hey, thats just my opinion. good luck and keep it clean

Around how much did the bumper you bought cost? Because I really dont want to invest a lot into the car. "Did the car come with the stock wheels?" I wish, it came with those ones in the pics, I really like the look of the stock ones.

you can get an 03 bumper for exactly 90-100 shipped on ebay. thats where i bought mine

Thanks for the suggestion on the 03 bumper but there is only a moderate size crack on the bumper that needs to be fixed. My dad knows how to patch it and he's gonna help me fix it and paint it.
