Cruise/Traction Control help!!

I've done my searching and come up with bupkis so I'm posting my problem.

Stats: 2000GT/145k miles

I'm not sure just how to explain this, but I will do my best...
A few months ago, I noticed that my TCL light came on after driving a few miles. Obviously, this caused my TC to not operate. What I also realized is that my Cruise is also dead now. The ABS works just fine. Every time I shut the car off, it resets, but now, even before the TCL light has a chance to come on once I start driving, I still have no TC or CC. If I stop and park, but leave the car run at idle, eventually the TCL light will go out, but the TC/CC still do not work and the light will come back on if I go out and drive again.

I've checked all the fuses under the hood and in the dash-side panel and all are ok. I'm really not sure just where to look next. I drive A LOT and doing so without CC just flat out sucks. I couldn't care less about the TC. I've even gone so far as to reset the computer with no luck. I've wondered if it could be one of the wheel sensors, but wouldn't that affect my ABS as well?

Any ideas/tips would be GREATLY appreciated and thanx in advance.

SOLVED

After entirely too much time, money and headache...it was a $2 light bulb.

Thanx for all the input fellas, it helped a lot.
So a lightbulb fixed your traction control? Did it up your horsepower too?

Retart! If you knew anything you would know that the 3rd brake light is somewhat linked with the Cruise Control! If the bulb goes out, there goes your Cruise Control! :uh:

He wasn't talking about the CC. Traction control is part of the ABS. Two separate systems.:wap:

I was also wondering how a bulb could effect the traction control. :dunno:
Yea, except he did mention that his CRUISE CONTROL went out!
I've seen this many times before where someone throws an LED in their third brake light, and the ECU treats it like a short, which makes cruise and TCL not work.

Speed sensor is another item that can cause the same symptoms for anyone that reaches this thread via search. I don't know where it is on the sporty, but on the manual its under the battery pan opposite the similar looking backup light switch (closer to the firewall).
This is called irony. Retard being spelled the way a retard would annunciate it.

Yeah, except I didn't mention anything about cruise control.

Anyways, thanks to citm2000 for teaching me something. I knew it could affect cc but not tcl.

And livinitup05, look at post number 2. This is called bitchy sarcasm, as if he was somehow owed advice from people who give it for free; So I gave some back. Go get a massage or something.
Spelling freak is here! And yes, CITM2000 can teach everyone something! He knows a lot!
Yeah I had the same thing happen to me awhile back, took me some time to realize that my third brake light was out.

You're fucking weird, man.
