dieing at idle

Just recently ive noticed something really weird about my 3g. Its a 2000 manual RS and ive never had this problem b4. But just recently while im driving and i come to a stop at a light my car will almost die and jump forward a little. Also lately my car has been sticking in first gear where to pull it out i have to pull like with all my strength. I have no idea at all what this can be im gonna try reseting the ecu tommorow but anyone have any idea?

No. Don't reset the ECU. That doesn't solve anything. It will just make the car waste time relearning and it will end up back in the same place.
Check engine light? Mileage? Recent mods/services?
63k miles no engine light. I got a cai but that was about 8 months ago. i worried cause im just about to install my new audio stuff and i dont want this killing my car

Also just changed the oil probally gonna try to change the spark plugs soon too

As far as dieing... Not to sure unless I knew all information on the car.

But for this detail... Check your clutch fluid... How old is your clutch master cylinder? I drive a 01 Gs, it had 100k miles before I replaced the engine and shortly before that my first gear got rediculously hard to get out and then second got back and then reverse...

So a couple things you could check on before you ruin your syncro like I did :D

- Clutch hieght
- Bleed your clutch
Test... if it's original spend the 70 bucks and throw on a new one.. see if that helps.

EDIT - it would make since tho if your not getting enough fluid to the clutch then your still semi engaged and that could make your car try to dayand lung foward ;)
If it was the clutch hydraulics, it would be every gear -- not just first.
i see both the points there but i think its worth a try with the clutch fluid at least that will probally help the sticking problem
but the idling on the other hand idk

Maybe it is my spark plugs i changed them last time at the end of summer and when im engaged like in first or second gear but in low rpms and try to floor it its pops and accelerates then goes normally
I say coil pack/plugs if it spudders when you accelerate. Although when my coilpack went bad i got Misfire code CEL.
before i changed my plugs last time i had this same problem but never was it almost dieing at idle. It could be a misfire from the plugs but idk it kinda feels like it jerks forward when its almost dieing\

I FORGOT to mention at the beginning that when the car almost dies i just kick in the clutch and it fixes it

At what RPM? Curiously..
my car normally idles at about 600 id say and when i feel it about to die i just see them drop to 500 and would prolly go lower but i always catch it with the clucth

Are you in neutral when this happens?
If it was the clutch hydraulics, it would be every gear -- not just first.

Mine started on first, and then did it in second and then reverse... yes I know that doesn't make since, but replacing the master cylinder and bleeding it, now its all real nice. just first gear syncro is off. thanks to me slamming it in and out w/ little to no clutch fluid/pressure
well i dont think im having that same problem as u did
If that's true -- master cylinder makes sense. Instead of being unable to get the car into gear, he can't get it out. It's not disengaging all the way. If that's true, the clutch is slowly burning up.
damn how much is a new master cylinder or should i just get a new clutch
also if its not disengaging all the way then i should be able to hear it decelerate a little then if i listen shouldnt i?

Just replacing the clutch isnt solving the problem. If its the master cylinder it will just continue burning the new clutch.
