What brand and part number for the EGR solenoid you bought?

first, use your scanner to check to see if the monitors are ready. If not, drive the car for about two hours (100 miles) on the highway at varying speeds so the ECU resets itself (completes the cycles) and relearns the proper idle rpms. If this doesn't work, return/replace the EGR solenoid again with a different oem quality one.

And if that doesn't work, check for vacuum issues/leaks as high idle is typically a vacuum problem.

I'd start by ruling out a vacuum leak. Have you spray checked for a vacuum leak with propane or some other combustible spray?

Don't just look at the EGR valve itself. It's easy to lean on a brittle vacuum line that has nothing to do with the EGR, and crack it. Or maybe you disconnected something to get easier access to the EGR, and didn't reconnect it properly.
