engine help

alright, so i bought a 2000 eclipse gt off my neighbor for cheap, and it has a messed up engine, and the Mitsubishi dealer suggested that i buy a new motor for the car (said 3500 for new stuff and installed).

i am wondering where i can find a cheap motor and tranny (if cheap enough) (with low milage) locally. im in Atlanta, and can go around north GA pretty easily, and wondering if anyone knows any good places or sites to find this, or a good site to buy off. i would prefer to stay with the stock 6G72 SoHC motor not a DoHC 3000gt/stealth motor.

any one know?

this would greatly help my leap into the 3G world.

First, this is in the wrong section.
Second, if you wanna leap into the 3g world use the search button at the top.
Third, the 3000gt motor dosent fit.
Fourth, Check the for sale section for a motor and tranny
Fifth, Also check the local forums for people near ATL.

there is a autoparts site that sells short and long blocks but i always forget what it is, I am sure a search will reveal that answer.

i have searched im just seeing if anyone else could further help.

and i did not know what section. i thought "3G Eclipse General Discussion" would be a good place to put it?
