Your MPG will not decrease, and you will not lose back pressure as long as it's not too big, like 3." If you buy a catback exhaust like Greddy, Invidia, or Magnaflow which is made for the 3G, you dont have to worry about anything.

You should also actually see a gain in MPG.

That is true. Magnaflow is 2.25 ID, Greddy is 2.5 ID, and Invidia is 2.75 ID.

I dont think that statement is true.

Dick!

Maybe a very minimal one, nothing real noticable though. Maybe like 5-10 miles to a tank. That is a guess though
It will most likely be less as you will be revving it higher a lot more to hear the new exhaust
if all the mufflers are the same as pipe. can i just cut the muffler off and weld in a 3" pace where the muffer was at, and be ok have any else done that before. i dont have the $500-900 to put into my exhaust.

And what about the ebay cold air intakes

Highly doubt a exaust giving more mpg .. maybe a piggy back fueler is what you were thinking of?

It's freer flowing than stock, so it's possible.

Exactly, engine doesnt have to work as hard to force the exhaust gas out (less backpressure). It might not be huge but its something.

They are cheap pieces of shit for the most part. If you searched or even bothered to read the FAQ we wouldnt be wasting our time with this.

Cut corners all you want. It will sound like shit but hey maybe if you don't have 5-600 for an exhaust then did the thought go through your head that maybe you shouldn't be modding a car?:uh: dumb noobs.

Crow is right on here. If you dont have the money to mod without doing it correctly and cutting corners maybe you need to find a new hobby.
general rule of life:

spend it once, but spend it right!

(save up buy nice stuff or dont buy anything at all!!)

how is it cutting corners if its the same thing. and is a 3" pipe or (glaspack)type exhauast that much diff. i have had the exhaust off the and it sound great (Better then most).

ps your right this is my first car before it was all jeeps(4) and sandrails (2made all by me)
the invidia exhaust that i got was a beautiful peice of work... i will tell everyone that asks what they should get to get the invidia. its sound is perfect and diameter is nice if you ever plan on boosting...

you really shouldnt buy anything cheap/crappy though. i bought a magnaflow exhaust from a muffler shop before my invidia. MISTAKE. just a waste of 225 bucks.

if you dont have the money right now then wait a month and save from a couple paychecks and get the one you SHOULD get the FIRST time
