if i am going to be running a 16g evo setup, would it be best to run a evo downpipe with my magnaflow catback or have one custom made? also do i need a highflow cat or not?

With the 16g setup, with the 2g manifold?

If im assuming correctly, you going to have to get a custom downpipe welded either way, coming out of the turbo is 2.5 and so is ur eclipse exhaust now. If u want better horsepower U can go with the evo downpipe, and increase your exhause from the oem 2.5 to the 3. :wavey:
its the evo manifold that came with it. ill prob. just get one custom made i guess.

i remember 1st researching evo part compatibility... my conclusion is just figure out your downpipe fitment relative to your turbos position an run a custom exhaust. 3" evo exhausts dont fit, hell stock evo stuff dont fit, i documented that one. Just keep it simple and hit up a good exhaust shop.
so u think my best bet would be to go get a custom one made if i already have a magnaflow cat-back on there.

how big does the downpipe and exhaust have to be. 3" is very big, is there any visible gain of running it over 2.5" or 2.75"?
i have the 2.5 magnaflow cat-back already, and i am just tryin to get the thing up and runnin with the turbo. so i think i am just going to get a 2.5 one made.

I have a 2.5" one made and it seems ok. Just know that in some cars, their downpipe is their limiting factor when it comes to power. The 2.5" was mainly for fitment. After the downpipe its straight 3"

Piping that doesn't change size often usually makes a better exhaust note. Thats just my opinion though.
yea man. i have come to the conclusion that is what im goin to do. i mean im tryin to not bother with switchin it out with a 3 inch right now and all, so im just goin to get a shop make me a 2.5 one. i mean it works good and all right?

It's almost impossible to make a better flowing 3" downpipe than a 2.5" downpipe while trying to keep a/c because with a 2.5, you have more room to bend (have a u-bend). with a 3", I've seen downpipes make straight 90 degree angles with a 16g setup in our cars...

It all depends on the shop and what they can do. Some shops didn't even want to quote me a price for a custom 3" dp because they didn't want to make anything that close to the a/c lines.

Thats The way to go. As cloud said, u can get better power outlets with 3", but with as little space as our cars allow, its just hard. I'm sure u could get it done. But it'll cost U a little. If u want to spend the money and do it the best way possible.

I'd get a custom 3" downpipe made, and run the evo pipes and universal catback, with a badass muffler. That's The way i'm going to redo mine, when i get home. But if you just want to get it running.

Get the custom 2.5" made and it'll cost u around 140-160 bucks, if u just drive ur car to the shop and say i need this. They can get it done the same day too. It's very worry free and uncomplicated.

If I could go back in time, I would buy a cheap 2nd gen 3" GS-T exhaust and change out the muffler or add resonators. Almost ten times cheaper than my custom 3" exhaust and its the same thing (Ebay $150 vs my custom exhaust and DP for about $1,200 for parts & labor)
haha. i know dude ur tellin me. that is my buddy that i go to school with. but i already had my magnaflow on my car when he did that. and i dont feel like fricken switchin it out right now. im just tryin to get it up and runnin if u know what i mean. so im prob. gunna just get a 2.5 downpipe made. i mean it will work for now.
