Getting a Emanage to work on a V6

Ive been fiddiling with this dumanage for awhile and still havent gotten a stable RPM reading out of it for the V6 thus eliminating the usefullness of injector and most importantly timing control under boost.

Would we be able to utilize any of the RPM signal adapters for the V6 3g? I saw one from Greddy that taps a signal from the - Coil side and runs into the Emange. I would think we could tap pin 45 on the ECU since it runs from the coil. thoughts or suggestions?

i cant remember which pin it was but i know it was for the crank position sensor. it was a cleaner signal than the rpm signal and tuning got much easier once i did that.
Have you tried the crank position sensor wire? Also, has anyone tried to use the timing harness with on the CPS? The emanage should be able to delay this signal enough to retard timing. However, there are two unknowns: does this trip crank/cam sensor codes or does it signifianctly delay injector firing. The emanage has not worked well when intercepting the signal from the coil trigger wire. i.e. missfires, codes, tach not working right. I'm thinking that it changes the coil dwell time and missfires start to occur, which also affects the output to the tach.
Tapping the crank position sensor rather than the RPM signal should work fine. Else, you can use that negative coil side adapater since our ECU gets the RPM signal for the TACH from the negative side of the coil any way - it's sure to work.

I know the ignition timing adjustment works FINE for boostzealot on his 2000 fed-spec ECU and the ignition adjustment on the E-Manage Ultimate has always worked on my 2001 cali-spec ECU just fine. You're intercepting the black-blue wire which fires the power transistor inside of the distributor, thus charging and firing the coil.
The timing feature on my emanage blue was causing severe backfires
I am currently using a Boomslang. The boomslang does use the crank position signal wire for RPM. That does not work and will easily cause tuning and particually timing issues. I am thinking the adapter box should fix the RPM signal but wanted to see if someone else got this thing to work properly.
its been a while since i installed my emanage ultimate... but i do remember messing with tach signals. I think I ended up setting it to use the ignition signal as a rpm signal and I never had any issues advancing or retarding my ignition timing. I do know that when I tried to use the crank signal as the rpm input it did not respond well. Also, definitely remember that you need the injector adapter harness from mohdparts.com or you will get injector codes if you want to be able to add/trim injector pw. Also, I have my injector maps 1 and 2 set up for banks 1 and 2 respectively so all my fuel trims are practically zero.

I never did get the rev limit bypass to work right, even though it doesnt appear that our cars pull timing on the logs.

Good luck, I really do think the emanage is the best tuning solution next to a standalone, even better in some ways to flashing, and dont get me wrong, flashing is an awesome way to tune, but when it comes to highly modded eclipses, the stock ecu is just too much of a picky lil bitch to really tune it alone.

I don't know Shane, but I think it is time you may want to upgrade your ECU/Immobilizer to flashable year. I got a little paranoid about over-flashing my ECU, so I bought an extra one for $80 a little while ago. I'm keeping it just in case... My point is that the flash can do all your timing, while you still use your e-manage for fuel. Plus the flash will give you neat features such as turning off closed loop at specific time or all together. It is really nice to have the stock ECU be a FI ally, opposed to trying to fool or fight it.

You already know all this stuff, so I won't rehash it. But you may want to think about it, because it very cost effective and wouldn't not take long to implement. The timing feature to me on the e-manage has alway been a bit 'blunt' IMO.

When you say we need the injector adapter, do we need adapter #2 or 3??
