why not pull them and let us know?
why not pull them and let us know?im sure that this mad has been done many many times. but i have 2 cars a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse gs and a 2004 stratus rt. does anyone know if i were to switch the 2 throttle bodies would the rt have that much of a power loss?
and does anyone know how much bigger the rt throttle body is? maybe like a 1/4 of an inch to 1/2 of an inch. because i am going to boost the car in about 2 weeks
That picture just convinced me its worth it to swap mine out.well i was looking through the turbo section and i happened to run across this in clouds setup.. and its just what you were asking for..

It comes out toim boosting the eclipse. my strat is a every day driver and thats the way im going to keep that one. earlier today i was reading that cloud had to shave a little off of the firewall to fit the 60 mm throttle body. and it bolts right up.
yeadoes the 2.4 stratus have the same intake manifold as the eclipse?
So, It doesn't hit when opened. I went outside and checked, and it is spaced pretty far away so the clearance isn't an issue.SO.......
I got my junk yard RT TB in the mail today. I pulled everything off, and it looks like it will all mate up nicely without any clearance problems in my engine bay (stratus). There are 2 MAJOR problems that I'm currently contemplating whether or not its worth doing this swap.
1 ------ Will the butterfly even open all the way, since the manifold still has the same inlet (which looks slightly larger than the TB, but not by much), or will it hit and not even open correctly?
2 ------ The coolant line is oriented in a way that prevents it from mounting correctly, so to get it to work I'll have to route the coolant away from the TB and hope it never freezes. This is the mount mentioned below.
*note* one hole also must be tapped, as the 4cyl TB needs to be mounted to the bracket attached to the block, the 6cyl TB has the hole without threads. I guess their intake is so sturdy it doesn't need to be braced on the block.
