ok so one of my local car budies got a laptop off ebay.

However it had a bios password set. So I told him no problem. I "hacked" that. Now it splashes the BIOS, but immediatly afterwards it prompts for a USER HDD PASSWORD.

so the Hard Drive is set with the maximum security setting.

I have beat my head against it for awhile, with no luck. I have tried bootable floppys. tried putting HDD in another laptop, and I get the same issue. The setting is tied to the Hard Drive. I dont want to call dell because we all know there is a possibility it was stolen. Any laptop purchased off ebay for 50 bucks has a strong chance. Oh, and the seller will now not respond to us. So I am suspicious.

Anyone know any other tricks?
