Heres a video my my Megan racing headers and stock muffler

I had another post on here about a week ago asking about whether or not its a good idea to hook Megan Racing V6 Headers to a stock muffler. Well, since I am waaaay to impatient to wait for my Invidia to get to my house, I decided to go a head and hook up my headers.

On the other post I had a couple people asking to me to post a video of what it sounds like, so here one is. Its mean sounding at idle, but once you start revving it up, it goes into "HONDA Mode". Raspy and hollow sounding.

Oh Yea, also This video was taken for the purpose of recording my SEAFOAM experience, so thats what all the white smoke dumping out of my car is, lol. Here ya go.......

Lol ya, I'm not really sure what he means. Maybe he didn't read the description and just saw all the smoke.

cant really tell how raspy it is since u really didnt rev it at all. but it sounds decent idling

hmmm...i just got my invidia cat back. hesitating if i should get the megan or just wait and put money away for a cmf or rpw.

i like the sound at idle. i predict that you'll hate the sound of it with the invidia exhaust if you dont like how it sounds now

why would he hate it with a better exhaust?:scratch: with the invidia it should sound way better with less rasp.

this makes me want to rant because this is fucking dumb. you dont want to wait for your exhaust to get there but you have the patience to remove the stock exhaust manifolds and downpipe with o2 sensors and then bolt up the megan headers? what the hell did you expect? i hope your car hates you. mods should start like listed in the GB for these headers. intake, exhaust, THEN headers or headers at the same time as the exhaust to be able to gain a benefit without any adverse conditions. i hope you at least have a cat on it still and are not polluting the air like you are with your nonsense. (thumbs down)

Who the fuck are you to tell him how to mod his car? What if he had extra time and wanted to throw on the headers? You know some people actually like working on their cars :ugh2:

Why is it dumb? The hardest part is done, he doesnt like the sound, and can have the cat-back in in 45 mins. Who cares what sequence he puts parts on.

The sea-foam isnt nonsense, it works. Its debatable if it works any better than plain water, but steam cleaning works. Ive done it to a couple Toyota Avalons that wouldnt run well at all due to carbon build up and pinging. Cleared them right up.

Who comes into the performance section of a car forum and starts ranting about cat converters and clean air crap. Green is the new rainbow!

That is like the guys on the motorcycle forums I visit that claim not to speed on their motorcycles.

new help

i know this is a very old thread but will the downpipe fit on to the stock exhaust properly or can i just use the old downpipe and get rid of the stupid precats? im new sorry i searched and got this. i have a v6 and want to put on the megan headers.

You did a good job searching. If you get rid of the pre-cats it will throw a CEL.

If you only want to get rid of the precats and not run a set of headers that sends your exhaust note to hell then you're looking at a Fed Spec exhaust setup. It outflow the cali spec like crazy and doesn't have the precats. You could pick one up here used for about as much as you'd recycle your precats for.
