This is a half ass tutorial on how to make clears. It should help you do it to be honest, pretty simple. If a 16 year old with room temp IQ can do it, you most definitely can. Sorry if I didn't explain some stuff clear, I am currently sleep deprived.
Here's how I did it, this is what I did, you can skip some parts, I like to work with clean parts and tools:
Step 1. I get my signals from my car, i got these signals from my parts car incase I goof up, it is really hard to goof up if you take your time.
Step 2. Clean off the housings and lenses with Isopropyl Alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Clean your work area, your area is gonna get messy.
Step 3. Get your tools. You'll need a rotary tool, any brand to your liking, a cutting blade for the rotary tool, multiple sanding tips for a rotary tool, and a flat screwdriver.
‼ MAKE SURE TO WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, I DON'T USUALLY WEAR EYEGLASSES WHILE CUTTING STUFF BUT THE PLASTIC PITCHES EVERYWHERE AND GETS SO HOT, THE LAST THING YOU'D WANT THAT IN IS IN YOUR EYES, IT HURTS SO BAD. 🤣
Step 4. Setup your rotary tool and use the cutoff wheel. The bigger the blade, the better. Cut where the orange and grey of the housing intersects. Cut as clean and straight as possible, please try and preserve the old orange lenses as it will help you make your new lenses. After you cut everything as clean as you can possibly get it, it doesn't matter if you mess it up a little, you'll get your flat screwdriver and pry near the screw hole, the part that screws into the bumper. (ik that was common sense, but ive come to realize that a lot of new 3g owners are young and dumb lol)
Step 5. Mask off the inside of the housings. I suggest you removing the reflector that is held inside. It is just a phillips head screw. You'll install this after you sand the remaining orange off the lenses.
Step 6. Setup your sanding tip onto your rotary tool and clean the orange up that is left onto the housings. Avoid sanding section by section, sand it with a back and forth motion, only do section by section if it has a light amount of orange.
Step 7. Re-install the reflector after you see no signs of orange on the housings. It's a must to get rid of the orange. Get a head gun and a heat the reflector and bend to shape so it will be nice and smooth to the housing. If you can run your fingers across the housing and can not feel the reflector, you should be good.
Step 8. Get your plexiglass sheet, lay it down onto your table or work area, get your tape and cut the tape into the shape of your signal, make it an inch wider and longer then original. You can always remove excess material but you could never add on material. Cut the shape and make sure everything is clear. If anything is blocking the end from going down, you are more than welcome to sand it smooth.
Step 9. Tape your rough cut of plexiglass onto the housings and cut the excess off. I suggest you clean it up after you cut and paste down the housing straight, make sure to get clamps and/or a vice grip, to protect the housing and lenses from getting scratched,get a cloth to cover the mating surface of your clamps or grips.
Step 10. Mix your glue or get your glue ready, pick your own glue, I'll be using clear plastic glue, and get it laid down onto the housing and the lenses. After so, squeeze the housings and lenses on, ensuring that it is straight, wait for it to dry. After you let it dry get your white, clear, black, or grey caulking, your choice, and seal the where the housing and lenses meet. Be careful.
