Regular readers should read on all OBDII cars, which are generally 96-up (there are a few domestic exceptions). Our cars definitely have them (if you've ever taken it to the shop to get read then it has it).

However, if you're interested you can get the Scangauge II which will read codes and also give you realtime engine data. If you're interested in that sort of thing (I'll be getting one soon), it is usually about 160 shipped from eBay sellers, 170 plus shipping most other places (ThinkGeek, for example). Check out that site, that thing has so many functions it is ridiculous. Of course, the big selling points now are the gas mileage functions.

I ended up getting what I call a generic one off of ebay for 100 bucks. It does obd2 and the new CAN. It also does real time as well, which tells you rpm, timing, mph when driving, o2 sensor voltage and readings, and I forgot the rest. The Innova is one of the best out there for the price!
