Regular readers should read on all OBDII cars, which are generally 96-up (there are a few domestic exceptions). Our cars definitely have them (if you've ever taken it to the shop to get read then it has it).

However, if you're interested you can get the Scangauge II which will read codes and also give you realtime engine data. If you're interested in that sort of thing (I'll be getting one soon), it is usually about 160 shipped from eBay sellers, 170 plus shipping most other places (ThinkGeek, for example). Check out that site, that thing has so many functions it is ridiculous. Of course, the big selling points now are the gas mileage functions.

I have an accutron that gives some "real-time" data, but it seems to lag behind real-time.
