I'm sure they built Spyders in Japan but ours were built in Normal Illinois by Mitsubishi Motors North America.... 1G and 2G,s were DSM Diamond Star Motors... You can read that here.

What we produce here for export is highly regulated for quality, which is not the case in many countries we buy crap from.
I would like to say I agree, but if that is true why is everything built by "The Big Three" such junk ? And yes, the U.S. delivery Eclipse was built in the U.S.. My Nissan Titan pickup was built in Mississippi. My Volvo was built in Sweden, but with parts from Japan, Germany, and the world. Why can't the U.S. companies get their ducks in a row ? They tend to just buy the cheap, ready made junk from Korea, China, Canada, etc. and try to pass it off as their own. Even their full sized trucks are not all that good and are STUPID expensive. I sold my last "Detroit" built vehicle years ago, and I will NEVER buy a new car from them again. That includes the glorified "Golf Carts" they are pushing off as the newest and latest. No thanks. [End of Rant]...J.D.

To clarify, I was talking US made products being regulated for safety and quality standards, as opposed to imported products.
We have more strident regulations than most other countries, and our patents are stolen and copied more frequently. One thing is for sure, and that is we shouldn’t be buying ANYTHING from China and using it to produce domestic products. Not only do their quality standards suck, they are not enforced. Not to mention flooding the world markets with cheap junk, which is done intentionally. Slowly but surely, China and the rest of the world is raping America, so it baffles me why we would even think of giving anyone a competitive edge in regards to trade deficits. So I agree, we need to get our shit together and pronto!!!

You duffers muck up literally every single post on this forum. Tavian asked about a drag racing event, if you don't have any input on that then shut up.

Besides. America intentionally manufactures garbage in order to maximize profit margin. Just because it's not due to lack of regulation like it is elsewhere doesn't mean it's any different. The 60's were a long time ago.

No, but I'd love to hear about it or see some pics if you take 'em. I'm in Alexandria but too busy this weekend to get away. Are you competing?
