Is it too late to...?

Good afternoon members. I recently ran my `00 Eclipse GT [Auto] @ Moroso...the 1/4 results were embarresing (or, normal?). My best time was 16.1. The only engine mod(s) I have is an Injen CAI. Anyhow, I desire much more hp than I currently have. My question is: Is it too late to run boost [turbo kit] on my 3G considering it has accquired 70k miles? Thank you in advance for any input to such an inquiry.

Shouldn't you lovers take this to OT? You killed another thread with your lover's spat.
i put 139k miles on a stratus in three years, and when i got rid of it the thing was still purring like a kitten. i drove it hard too, i had it pegged solid at the govenor (110mph) for a good thousand miles at one point. its not how much you drive or how hard you push it, its how well you take care of it.
RYU.. you misinterpreted the problem with the ring gap...

ring gap has nothing to do with piston slap...

ring gap is there so that when the piston heats up the ring has a place to expand to without closing the gap completely.

What happens when metal heats up? it expands. What happens when a ring expands to the point that there is no gap? The rings bind

what happens when the rings bind? it puts alot of pressure on the ring land (which are hotter than shit with 7-10psi on them) AND THEY CRACK and then CHIP.

There is no flaw. And you would know if you ever built an engine that there are specifications on ring gap... the car has the perfect ring gap for an NA car. Boosted .. the ring gap on the top two rings must be widened so that they have a place to expand under such heat.

some of what blowby is... is from the oil that seeps through the gap in the rings...

the gap we are talking about is the gap between the two ends of the rings.. not the edge of the ring around the cylinder

So a boosted car with a really wide ring gap might have a bit extra blow by when cold. But when it gets up to operating temp it will be perfect and you wont have to worry about your rings binding.. which chip pistons.. which ruin valves and heads..

here is some pics:
