This should definitely be a good one to watch. I've follow is progress from the first thread since day one. I hope the 13Gs will help him get off the line with less traction issues in the lower rpm range. Thankfully, we have guys like him in this community to continue to push the envelope.

Yeah, Right! Unlike that 'other' site, I believe this forum is more tolerant as long as you are not trying to petal porn or any other blatant solicitation. The .org is a lot tougher with their policies. That is why it seems they are in the dark ages over there when it comes to finding useful information.

If asked, I'd be happy to edit the post. Thanks for pointing it out Chief....:bat:

If he manages to make it to 400 whp on the stock pistons, that'll truly be incredible. Hell, the fact he's pushing 15 psi with them is a testament to how good of tuning he's done, but if he pushes it as far as he's hoping and can still get stock pistons to hold up, it'll be amazing.

Only thing that kinda disappoints me is that the main site he posts on is the .org. I'm not a big fan of it...the info there, the layout, the attitude, everything. Technically I'm a "member" over there too but I don't believe I've made a single post there and I've lurked there just as long as I've been here...

this is some really good news in a rather tough year for the 3g croud. It makes me feel better for not selling after the turbo messed it up. Cant wait to see what the vortech will do for me!!!

Looks like John and I are going similar routes except I'll have a bit more displacement, forged pistons and bigger turbos.

I hope he proves a lot of people wrong, myself included, but I don't think he is going to eek 400whp out of the stock block. Something is going to go before then I think.

I don't think he is set on keeping the stock pistons:

As I mentioned the beast has 221,000 miles on her now. Last compression test was at about 215,000 still showing 180psi across all 6. I'm reluctant to rebuild a motor that has proved itself so capable. I'm not ruling it out yet, but at present my main motivation for replacing the pistons would be to get cutom pistons with the valve reliefs cut deep enough to eliminate the interference fit.
