Hey i got an 01 Eclipse with the 6G72. I have an AEM V2 Intake and a Skunk2 Catback Exhaust. Im lookin at buyin Megan Racing headers for it and im just wondering if its a good investment since ive heard people have problems with them. Also it says the Check Engine light will come on because of the O2 sensor of course. If i shut it off with a DMM will i b ok? Also will the pipe bolt up to the Catback? What sound will it produce will it still b the low tone of my Skunk2 now?

first thing first, if ya here bad things about something its probably not a good idea to throw your money at it unless you want to experience the problems first hand. and what kind of DMM is this that can remove check engine lights?
Megan Headers are a great investment. Although I have a 2.4L my headers have made a significant difference in performance and sound. I highly recommend Megan to those who arent going to turbo their 3g. Plus they look good under the hood too. My check engine light came on after they were installed but it goes away sometimes. Its really not a big deal to me, and I am happy with my purchase. Hopefully this helps you out with your decision.

1: Performance gains will be ok, but not as great compared to other headers that are more expensive.
2: The check engine light will come on unless you get o2 sims or use non foulers. You also have to put an egr breather on in order to not get any codes - there are how to's on both.
3: It should bolt right up to the catback.
4: The sound will be raspy and hollow at high RPM's because of eliminating the cats. It will also smell like unburnt fuel. I suggest getting a magnaflow High flow cat. That will emiminate some of the harshness sound headers will produce and get rid of the smell. And if you still dont like the sound, weld on another resonator/muffler after the HFC. If you put a HFC and extra resonator on - you will have to cut part of your exhaust to make it all fit. This is what I did and it makes your car sound just like it did before the headers were installed, but with better power gains!

When I got the HFC and Resonator it was 110 total for me.
Well said. He named off everything of what to expect out of the Megan headers. I have had mine for a while and for the money, they are worth it. After using the anti-foulers and the breather, my SES went off on its own and stayed off.
