I have a set of Megan Racing coilvers from a GB last year. The front end links dont seem to linenup very well at all. I already snapped one set of fron endlinks. I thought i must have installed them opposite but it wasnt the case.

<a href="http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image080im7.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/875/image080im7.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

The endlink doesnt turn enought to line up. the stock bracket is welded about 90deg straight while each end link is bent about 45 deg.

anyone else have this issue with megan racing? short of making a bracket, any suggestions?

could you loosen the bar brackets, turn it a little, and try?

or use a bit of heavy scrap to bolt through the strut tab and then put a hole on the scrap to bolt the endlink to? maybe tig it upto a box shape so its more rigid, im picturing a box which slides over the tab, bolts to it, and then has another hole for the endlink in the correct place. make it from 1/8th plate and it'll be plenty strong.

id like to get the adjustables but it appears Patriot Perf is MIA. I dont think they ever released the fronts either.

i'll probably just fab up some 45deg brackets.

what i did was pust the endlinks on first then actually put them on
Well he doesn't have a hard time getting them on. What difference does it make if you install the links first? it's going to sit at that weird angle anyway you install them. Thats not the problem, the problem is the bracket on the Macpherson strut is at 90* angle instead of 45*.

the links into position but when your turn the steering wheel, you are putting wicked forces on the endlink to the point the with pop off. ive already broke 2 endlinks. the sole cause is the bracket is not aligned the way the factory was.

My endlinks sat at an awkward angle with my coilovers. They didn't break, but I ended up going to OSH and made new endlinks.

I was going to recommend some home-made ones. What Patriot had for sale in the past should be pretty easily duplicated at a decent hardware store or a place like McMaster-Carr I would think.

Too bad cutting & rewelding isn't an option (heat on the strut).

all I'm saying is try it. I've seen it happen on 2 different 3g's, besides my own. I'm not just making this stuff up. just try it. the 45 deg angle thing, yup, switch um.
