Need a fuel pump?

After fixing my oil leak problem everything seemed fine. Today I drove to school and on the way I stopped for some gas. Left and everthing was fine. About half way to school I stopped to get a water. When I went to start my car it turned over but no start. Tried it again and it felt like it had a bad miss. Tried again and it finally started then lost power a few seconds after starting. About a minute or two past and I tried again and it started and stayed running. The idle didn't want to hold though. It would drop to about 400rpms. By the time I got to school it seemed fine again.

New parts:
New plugs, plug wires, coil packs, alt, starter, and starter relay.

I don't think fuel pumps are notorious on these cars, i'd double-check all of your new parts that you have installed... Atleast go through and reseat the plugs and plug wires, and make sure they click into place.
By the way when it died after starting i left the key in the on position and checked under the hood. If sounded like the injectors were still running.
can a bad coil pack be random though? Be perfect sometimes then just cause the engine to cut off all together.
I would imagine so, I've never personally had that problem but it would make sense to me.
When this happen and I got it to drive it felt fine at anything other then idle.
I'd say a good majority of idle problems would be spark plug/wire combinations. I know i'm needing to change mine and i've been having idle problems. I'd try searching a bit for your similar problems on here and see if anybody else has been able to solve it. Nothing is jumping in my head right now so I can't really help too much more other than to tell you to recheck what you recently installed.
Thanks. I am about to walk into class in a few minutes.
Is there a fuse or relay that tells the fuel pump to turn on before I turn the key over to start it? It almost feels like there is no fuel until I try to start it a few times. Then everything is ok.
Almsot forgot but after it starts there is no smell of it running rich or un burnt fuel.
I just removed the cover plate for the fuel pump under the rear seat. I had a friend listen close to see if there is any sound from it before I turned the key to start the car. No sound detected. Car started after several tries.
Figured I would post this update...

Last time I started the car it took a few tries again... This time the SRS light came on very dim but went right back out. During which time a loud click noise became audibale. It went away with a few revs of the engine.
That click was most likely a fuse blowing or a relay activating.

Make sure your battery, alternator, and starter wire connections are solid and clean. Leaking or disconnected vacuum lines can/will cause idle issues as well. Not sure about no-start issues though.

The fuel pump relay does not activate until the car has been turned "ON".
Bat, starter, alt, and all ign wires are all new and have been checked.
So the fuel pump doesn't turn on when I put the key in and turn it one time?

The fact that they are new is why I said check them.

To my knowledge it doesn't turn on until you turn the key 2 clicks (ON). I could be wrong though. Wait for another poster to confirm or search the FSM. Look for info on troubleshooting the fuel pump relay.
Could FPR only cause problems during startup? My car does this both warmed up and from cold starts.

I dont understand how it could unless there was a vac leak.... even then I would be suprised.

Then again, my limited exprience comes from the 6G72.
Yeah this really sucks. I paid 100.ooUSD for a diag check and nothing was found.
It took about 5 or 7 tries to get my car running today. This was the first time I started it today. I had my wife rev teh engine while I looked under the hood. I could hear a whoosh type sound from the TB. Could a leak around the TB cause the car to act like it isn't getting any fuel to where it takes several attempts to start?
