there should be a bracket that holds the caliper in place it has two or three bolts i thinkis there anything besides barke calibers holding rotor on. got caliber off but cant budge the rotor.any help please.
i got the caliper off no problem. its the rotor that will barely move. tapped it with hammer like a zillion times. pulled like crazy. all i could get was a tiny bit of movement then it would kinda spring back like it was attached to something. kept trying for like 2 hours. finally gave up. have to go to work. dont know what to do.anyone else have major, major problems with getting it off. ive already searched board and all the advice is pretty much bang with hammer(not to hard of course) and pull off. but that didnt work at all.there should be a bracket that holds the caliper in place it has two or three bolts i think
im a little nervous to take a sledge hammer to it. dont wanna damage anything. but that might be only solution. if i took it to a mechanic what would they do? bang the hell out of it until it comes off, or is there some special trick they can do .dont wanna waist money if theyll just do the same thing as me.has anybodies been this difficult. This is going to sound messed up, but you can do one of two things. First put your wheel back on with the caliper off and kick the tire as hard as you can. If that doesn't work, take your wheel off again and get a hammer/sledge hammer. Hit the outside of the rotor until it comes off. You will have to be very aggressive with it. I wouldn't recommend using the rotor again. After you get it off, clean the hubs really good and you might want to spray them with anti rust paint.
