I have a sneaking suspicion that it's part of the knuckle assembly, but since they are a discontinued item, it's hard to verify. But yeah, just take a dremel with a cutting wheel to it and go along the length. Go lightly and use a chisel when you are close to break it open and it will be off in no time. Or you could always check a junk yard.
