Excellent condition is basicly NO rock chips, and off the line damn near perfect condition. Hardly any cars are ever in this condition. Just letting you know i HIGHLY doubt the insurance will give you much at all for it. Just wanted you help you out and give you realistic numbers...

They will give you book value for replacement.
No they won't. They have to give you the fair market value of the vehicle. So, just look on craigslist, preferably dealerships (because they price the cars higher) for eclipse's that are you year and around same mileage. You should be able to find some around 7-8k. All the 2003 GT's are around 7-9k in my area from dealerships. So just fight the insurance company, give them all the ad's for 2003 GT's in your area (Craigslist, Cars.com, etc.) and they will give you a lot more than what they first say.

Then just fight with his insurance. They will try to dick you around, so it'll take a few weeks, but you should be able to get ATLEAST 6k.

Dude, I work for an insurance company. They don't stray far from the red/blue book value, which reflects market pricing. You wouldn't lose anything by fighting the insurance company though...just time.

Weird. My brother was able to get $4.5K for his 1999 Sentra GXE last year (with 140k miles), even though the blue book was only like $2.5k. We just fought with them, and shown them all the sentras in the area and how much they go for, and they gave us that amount.

Also, you might want to talk to your insurance company about it as well. My company was very helpful and practically gave us strategies on how to get more money out of the other insurance company.

That's good, but the depreciation factor is up to them. You can dispute it though. You need to talk to the adjuster.
