So i believe i have a throw out bearing that went bad.. was taking off from a stoplight clutch went to the floor no pressure, just had transmission and clutch replaced 4K miles prior to tbis happening. Started the car in first with no pressure and it drove first and second gear but didn’t push any further than that, so with that said clutch and transmission is fine.. next question should i buy another clutch kit? Any suggestions for a stock 2000 gt? Only full exhaust upgrade. Thanks guys!
Yeah seems like fork or throw out bearing wasn't assembled correctly. That or the master cylinder failed. No reason the throw out bearing should have failed if it's only 4,000 miles old. I'd check the master cylinder first because that's easier than pulling a transmission.
I don't think a new clutch kit is necessary if it was replaced only 4,000 miles ago.
Correction the transmission was used and wasn’t provided with how many miles were on it, and sorry about posting twice I’m new and thought i posted it in the wrong area, i have a brand new master and clutch cylinders but the clutch cylinder seems fine.. i also have a stage 1 clutch and 14lb flywheel do you recommend anything for a stock transmission? I just don’t want this problem to happen again because this is the second transmission and clutch.. am i buying a clutch that is to hard on the tranny?
Don't worry about the double post. It's fine. Now you know.
Since you have new clutch hydraulics I'd say the throwout bearing or clutch fork failed somehow. If the clutch is only 4,000 miles old, there is no reason to change the entire clutch, just change the throwout bearing and to fix the fork (again, assuming that is the problem). Also it doesn't matter much what kind of clutch or flywheel you use with your transmission. It matters more how you use it.
I have a new Mitsubishi eclipse oem throwout bearing and a 2.4 l brand new clutch kit for sale. I cant use it cause my car is fully built and I have clutchmaster stage 4 going in my car. I can provide you pics.
Before you go and remove the Transmission (the hardest part) you should troubleshoot the master and slave cylinder.
Can you move the clutch fork by hand at the transmission?
Thank you guys for the information, i don’t think with what i know i can do it myself. But at least i know what to buy and what needs fixed thanks again.
Was there a rattle sound coming from the tyranny before this happened? I will say good luck finding a clutch fork. I just bought one (old new stock) but, I never found any one that made them after market. I have been told the OEM forks were not made for heavy weight pressure plates thus, causing them to break.
Could it be your internal slave cylinder? I had a similar experience in my old probe GT years ago & I'd have to shick my foot under the pedal & pull up on it to get it to start back up. I hope it's not that & I'm probably way off but🤷♀️ >
I’ve had the same problem with my check engine light was on for 3-4 years put some speakers in and it went away, I’m not very car savvy so them questions i will not be able to answer as well. But i can sure try!
